Tough ending to an otherwise very good week for the sophomore. He was the hero on Tuesday night in the clutch, and had a similar clutch moment to force overtime in Douglass’ Thursday win. Down three, he drove, hit a tough floater against a late sliding defender. And then drained the free throw to help force OT.
On Friday he still finished with 15 points. His development as a skilled and controlled scorer has been good this season. Good floater game and other moves to survive amongst the trees. And has been a reliable three pointer shooter. The game slowed down for him some this year, and should continue to as he makes steps in the right direction of becoming a college player.

Came up the biggest in the clutch. With a tied game, he was able to keep his composure and knife his way to the hoop for a great contested take. Seconds later it was his quick hands that forced a turnover and effectively secured the win for the Trojans. It was a signature moment for the junior and a testament to perseverance. As he fought through a few turnovers and misses early in the game, to be the man late. Confidence building moment.

It was one of House’s best games at the varsity level. He played at his own pace, and leveraged his strong frame to consistently find ways to the rim. Strong finishes on layups, and good touch on floaters and similar shots from the 6-10 feet range. Very impressive sign that he stepped up and gave the Trojans a big three scoring trio in a hard fought battle. Speaks to an improving mentality. Long term, will need to continue to improve his quickness and explosiveness to be better prepared for the next level.

The sophomore is clearly ready for a bigger role, as he hit big jumpers throughout the night. Had more ball handling responsibilities, which was a bit of a baptism by fire against the quick and aggressive Booker T Washington defense. Which he handled well. Still clearly growing into his body and maturing physically.
House Jr along with quick Trevor Snell were a pair of Trojan sophomores who stepped into bigger roles and did not back down on Thursday night. Will be huge pieces for the Trojans in their quest for a three-peat.

Another mistake in the initial rankings was House Jr being left out. The quality freshman guard is already logging key minutes for one of the programs with one of the deepest backcourts in the state. He’s been highlighted twice already this season, following a win over Classen SAS and on a preseason watch list. House Jr like many other guards in this class already has good poise and feel for a youngster, speaking to his strong youth basketball eduction. The 2027 prospect can be disruptive on the defensive end, with the upside to having a bigger scoring role down the road.
