Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Hoops Scout
The Piedmont Wildcat brought a good mixture of size and motor to the camp. Based on Sunday, size wise and skill wise, he’s a tweener between being a true perimeter or post player. But what was impressive was his ability to impact the game on both ends, and not become reliant on “just” being a guard or “just” being a big. Versatility combined with energetic play is often a foundation for good development. He had good actively on the glass, often high-pointing the ball and then quickly looking to get it out for transition opportunities. Sydnes also had one of the best post moves of the camp, with a patient ball fake to set up the defender and then up & under finish. If he continues to grow his skill set to match his athleticism and motor, Sydnes has the profile to be a late bloomer that thrives at the small college level.
