Sam Duren | Prep Hoops Scout
The second part of the Wildcats’ hard nosed backcourt. Hainrihar handles the point guard duties, with steady consistent play. Gets Piedmont into sets, makes the right passes. While also creating a bit with hard nose drives to score himself or feed teammates. Also popped up with spot up three point shooting throughout. Had a tough defensive assignment and never backed down in that regard. Plays patient and strong on that end. Earned a huge stop in overtime by forcing the opposing guard into a travel. He did it by sliding his feet and beating the quicker guard to his spots multiple times.

Whenever the Wildcats needed a tough bucket, it was the hard nosed senior who stepped up and sliced his way to the rim. Sometimes it was slippery drives, with good strength, balance and foot work to snake through defenders. Or a blow by on a mismatch that was a crucial score late in the game. His paint touches also create good looks for Piedmont’s quality shooters along the perimeter. Brings football toughness with savy feel to help elevate his teammates. Which got their season off on the right foot.

Multi sport standout, who filled up the stat sheet for Piedmont as a junior. Has some shift and wiggle to get downhill. On those drives, he can finish against help defense or make the right reads to open teammates. Plays with good balance and two feet on those finishes, making good use of his strength. Rock solid all around guard, who sneakily could be one of the better at getting paint touches in the 405 as a senior.

‘s team went 1-3. He was making the right plays and shooting the ball well, but did not have enough help around him during the event for them to win more. Against JEB Elite, who went 4-0 during the tournament, he scored extremely well. Having 11 points at halftime, he scored regularly inside, despite only being 5’10. He was efficient from the free throw line and grabbed a couple of rebounds. He made some good passes with drive and kicks, but the shots were not falling for his teammates. On defense, he had a block in transition and was playing good perimeter defense. His team ended up losing by two points, but he gave JEB Elite all they could handle. It was impressive to see him keep his own against a good defense.

had great games in both games I saw him play today. In both games, he showed a knack for scoring inside, one time after another. He went 3/4 from the free throw line in the first game. At halftime of the first game, he had 11 points, finishing with 12 points all together. He had a block in transition and showed the ability to rebound, grabbing multiple, including offensive rebounds. It was a great game for him in both games, as his team won one and lost a close one in the other. He was an important piece in them being in those situations.
