It’s basically a few sentences using broad comments about how prospects were watched at the recent camp. Maybe include a reference point about how they stood-out and deserved to be mentioned and it hopefully helps with exposure? Is this thing on? Bueller? If you actual read this and think it deserves a pity chuckle @ me on twitter, @Sam_Duren.
Anyway, important, must read, ANALYSIS/CONTENT below.
One of the most accomplished players entering the camp, England had a breakout junior season as a conference MVP and then built off that with a successful summer on the circuit. What stands the Carl Albert guard apart from most players in the state is the damage he does in the midrange. That was on display Sunday with pull ups and iso fade aways. He currently holds a McPherson (KS) offer but the interest and offers should grow as the regional small colleges start to scout high school games this winter.
The Piedmont Wildcat brought a good mixture of size and motor to the camp. Based on Sunday, size wise and skill wise, he’s a tweener between being a true perimeter or post player. But what was impressive was his ability to impact the game on both ends, and not become reliant on “just” being a guard or “just” being a big. Versatility combined with energetic play is often a foundation for good development. He had good actively on the glass, often high-pointing the ball and then quickly looking to get it out for transition opportunities. Sydnes also had one of the best post moves of the camp, with a patient ball fake to set up the defender and then up & under finish. If he continues to grow his skill set to match his athleticism and motor, Sydnes has the profile to be a late bloomer that thrives at the small college level.

After a strong summer on the circuit, Smith looks poised to pick up a bigger role with Moore this winter. A quicker, defensive minded guard, one of the areas of improvement for the Lion in recent months has been improving as a shooter. That was on display in his team’s second contest when he hit a flurry of three pointers.

Trey Morgan
Trey Morgan
A late add to the camp roster sheets, the 2024 home school guard made the most of his time by displaying an impressive scoring repertoire. He has broad shoulders and makes good use of them to create space on drives or pull ups. Most importantly the strength and control he plays with allows him to dictate the pace of play and in this camp setting, as he was rarely sped up/out of control. Mix in some good shooting from beyond the arc and Morgan is an intriguing scorer who needs to be seen more.
