Colin had some nice moments against D1 Minnesota Gold on Sunday. At 6’8 he has decent mobility at his size, is comfortable handling the ball in the open floor, and has the touch to score around the basket or from three. His effort in the paint allowed him to dominate on the defensive glass, and from there he showed he can find a quick outlet pass or even put the ball on the floor himself if he has a bit of space. Unpredictable offensively because he can fight for good position and score with a hook shot down low, or step out to the perimeter and be a pick & pop threat.

Colin continues to emerge as a low-post threat for Minnesota Heat Academic. In years past he would float around the perimeter a lot and settle for outside jumpers. Although he’s still a threat to shoot out of the pick & pop, he’s become much more aggressive looking to utilize his height in the paint. Against M14 he helped spark a comeback for his team to give them a chance late, converting on a handful of heavily contested looks around the rim. When catching in traffic he did a great job of staying strong with the ball and just powering his way up to the rim to finish.

Although his team came up short in the end, Colin helped spark a comeback attempt for Minnesota Heat Academic on Saturday afternoon. He had a big size advantage down low, and was finding ways to get the ball in the paint and finish. Has some mobility to roll to the basket with the coordination to catch and finish on the move. He did a great job of staying strong with the ball, as often times he would get swarmed by defenders, and powering through trees of arms to finish inside. Shot wasn’t falling in the game I watched, but from seeing him in the past he is capable of stretching the floor from three.

Colin Kirk was scoring at will down in the paint, he went to the pump fake several times and it worked out in his favor, earning himself trips to the free throw line. Kirk was reliable throughout the tournament, and consistently converted on close shots.

Colin stood out with his versatility at his now-listed height of 6’9. The 2025 forward was capable of stretching the floor from deep, handled the ball comfortably in space, and was dominating on the glass. In the small sided games he was nearly unstoppable because of his ability to take opposing bigs off the dribble and finish at the rim. Like his versatility as a screen setter because of his ability to pop out beyond the arc or roll to the rim and finish over size.

Eden Prairie did a lot of 5 in – 5 out substitutions, and even with how talented their starting five was, there wasn’t much of a drop off when that second unit came in. A big part of that was the play of

. He looks even taller than I remember him last season at BSM, and was making plays inside and out. Colin showed he’s a legit pick & pop shooting threat, but could also put the ball on the floor and get to the rim to finish. Plays off two feet inside to go up balanced to finish. He’s a solid athlete who can defend the paint and move his feet to help out on screens on the perimeter.
