Schaeffer jumped on our radar this summer as a lead guard who commands the offense and gets his team organized. He competes on both ends, but what we really enjoyed was his ability to be the primary guard. He plays with pace, and knows when to attack or facilitate and that keeps defenses honest. Schaeffer sees the floor well, makes sound reads, and teammates seem to run harder when he has the ball because they know he puts them in the right positions to score as well as being able to get his one. We want to see more for him, but he’s shown enough to earn his debut in the rankings.
