The first time I ever saw Zarzycki play was this past January when I saw him play on a Friday night a HoopHall Prep and the next day in a class A contest and have left a huge impression on me from those two performances and thought he was someone who was vastly underrated. Just like the versatility he brings to the game and is just a flat out hooper. Zarzycki’s calling card is his ability to make shots on the perimeter and cannot be left open or he will make you pay. He has great instincts for the game. I liked how he was able to make plays for others with his vision of the floor. He should be on the radars of high division twos and low major division ones.

Zarzycki shoots the lights out. Even though everybody in the gym knows he’s looking to shoot, he still finds a way to get shots off and make them at a high clip. He can shoot with deep range, and he makes shots off the move and with heavy contests—even after a rough first half, he’s still firing. The 6-foot-3 junior won’t necessarily wow you with big-time athletic ability, but he’s quick enough to drive closeouts and his shooting ability stretches the defense quite a bit. Zarzycki is one of the better shooters in the region and should get high D3 looks as a result.

Zarzycki, a guard out of Cheshire Academy in Connecticut, had a phenomenal winter shooting the basketball and has put his name firmly on the map in New England because of it. The 6’3″ guard shot over 50% from behind the arc on over 140 attempts, utilizing his positional size and a quick release to get shots off over the defense. He’s not one dimensional though as he’s a good athlete that can attack closeouts off the bounce and makes plays in passing lanes defensively. He’ll play with Valente’s Rocks this spring and summer.

Zarzycki is a SHOOTER! He’s shooting over 50% from three on the season and hit 7 of them against Lawrence Academy on Wednesday, many of which came at pivotal points in the second half. The 6-foot-3 wing has a super quick release and nice footwork coming off screens, but he also makes nice plays for his teammates when the help comes—he had one really nice look-away pass to a backdoor cutter. Zarzycki finished off his performance with 2 clutch free throws. What a game from him.

Zarzycki impressed with his ability to connect on shots from behind the arc. If his feet are set there is a high chance he is connecting from deep. He has great length and is effective playing the two or the three. Zarzycki makes the most of his chances at the foul line. He was on their primary scorers.
