Smith is a true wing who should transition smoothly to Concordia College Moorhead, thanks to his well rounded skill set and high IQ. He moves exceptionally well without the ball, constantly finding open space, and is deadly from three when given a look. He’s also a reliable free throw shooter, adding to his offensive efficiency. Defensively his length stands out and he uses his long arms to close out quickly and force opponents into tough, contested shots. His ability to impact both ends and play within a system makes him a strong fit at the next level
Smith is on a mission and has been for the past few seasons, and now gets to prove himself yet again. I bet he’s up for it as he’s a 6’3 wing who stays on the attack. He’s had a few stretches this season where defenses could not slow him down. He was getting to his spots, being assertive and demanding attention his way. In his best games of the season, Erie has typically won, which shows the impact that he has in games. His teammates will look for more of that as they go into the most important game of the season. He’s a prospect who could put the team on his back and deliver a win, and we’re banking on it.
Smith is off to a hot start at Erie, averaging 13.8 points and 8.3 rebounds, and is quickly proving to be a major factor in the team’s success. His length allows him to dominate inside, control the glass and consistently finish plays around the basket. He’s also effective moving off screens and getting to his spots, where he can bury the three. On the defensive end he plays with toughness, using his size and timing to generate blocks and disrupt opponents which will make him a major factor in the league this season
Chris is a four-year varsity guy with legit size at 6’3, and he becomes Erie’s engine this season. He already showed what he can do as a junior, as he averaged 10.7 points, but he also rebounds well and started the break. Now he has to take a jump as a scorer, passer, and leader. With defenses keying on him, efficiency matters. If he develops the outside shot and stays aggressive all game, he becomes a major riser in the conference. He makes the move for us after a solid season with high expectations for the year.
He is a player that has good vision and is able to find the open teammate, setting them up for easy buckets. He is a deadly shooter from behind the arc and was knocking down the 3 ball whenever he was left open.
Smith can light it up from behind the arc and can catch fire, making his match be in for a long day once he gets it going. He has some impressive range being able to step way out and knock down the 3 ball with ease, making him even more harder to guard. He is streaky and when he is on he can knock down 4+ 3’s in a game and can create space for his teammates. On the defensive end he is able to help clog the paint and alter some of the shots. He is quick off his feet and can come up with blocked shots making shooters hesitate.
