Owen is a natural scorer who should make an immediate impact at Sterling College. He has a knack for getting to the basket, using his quickness and athleticism to break defenders down and finish at the rim. His ball control really stood out this season, allowing him to create space and attack with confidence. He plays fast, puts pressure on the defense and thrives in those downhill situations. With his ability to score and create off the dribble, he brings an offensive spark that can translate well to the next level and give him success early

Owen is our most recent 1,000-point scorer in the state, and it came in his senior year. He’s been steady and a go-to guy who has Erie as an entertaining team. He’s had some pretty explosive games this year where he’s erupted for some big point totals and kept them close in others. He’s a two-way scorer and a player who rebounds well. He’s the focal point of the offense and continues to get those points up. Solid senior year for him. 

Owen is electric to watch because his motor, toughness and feel for the game consistently jump off the floor at Erie. A physical wing, he brings energy every night and backs it up with production, as his 18.8 points and 6.2 rebounds only scratch the surface of his impact. Offensively he plays within the flow, taking what the defense gives him and never forcing the action. He can attack the rim with strength, score on the block, knock down the midrange or the three and make the right read by finding open teammates. Defensively Owen is just as valuable, routinely locking down the perimeter and taking on the challenge of guarding the opponent’s top shooter, making winning plays on both ends. It’s his dynamic, two way impact, fearless versatility and ability to swing games that have him steadily climbing the rankings and turning heads every time he steps on the floor

Owen is set to be a driving force for Erie this season, bringing nonstop intensity and effort every time he steps on the floor. He’s constantly on the move, working hard with or without the ball to get open and find his spots offensively. Not afraid of contact he attacks the paint and finishes strong at the rim. On the defensive end he matches that same toughness, locking in on his assignment and making life difficult for anyone he guards. Owen’s motor, physicality and two way impact makes him a key piece in the league this season

Owen looks ready to take a major step forward for Erie this season, and there’s a lot to be excited about. He shows flashes of high level play every time he’s on the floor, and this could be the year those flashes turn into full on consistency. Owen’s always active and comes to the ball, stays engaged in plays and never shies away from making something happen. His ball skills are an asset giving him more confidence to attack defenders and get downhill. When he decides to drive to the hole, he’s tough to stop and we’re expecting to see more of that aggression this year. If Owen keeps building on his tools and stays assertive, he could become a dynamic contributor for his team

Owen stood out with his relentless effort and smart movement off the ball. He works hard to get open, showing excellent anticipation and timing to create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. Offensively he keeps his hands active, ready to catch and finish efficiently and can score at the rim with both hands, even through contact. Defensively Owen stays engaged on every possession, keeping his hands up to contest shots, disrupt passing lanes, and challenge ball handlers. His energy, awareness and ability to contribute on both ends make him a dependable, high impact player who consistently affects the flow of the game

Owen has gotten more comfortable over his past four games, putting up double digits in each matchup alongside a 27 point performance against a very competitive Silver Creek program. Bringing good length and quickness at 6’3, his downhill scoring aggression and the budding three point jumper have allowed him to succeed within Erie’s offensive flow. Arguably his best attribute is the willingness to draw fouls, excellent at leveraging his defender’s positioning against them for numerous free throws. Owen’s defensive value has taken ticks up too, more comfortable holding his own at the point of attack versus both backcourt positions. Certainly an x-factor for that program, his continued progression will be worth following, although his stock is rising of late. 

Owen brings in a wide reach within the backcourt, alongside a high motor on the defensive end. Constantly scrambling for loose balls or rebounds, they waste no time getting into position on those instances.
