Watched Kwapil play in team’s last game of weekend. Heard he’s a tough out on the grid iron and brings that same relentlessness hard working attitude to the hardwood. Scored it in a variety of ways including back door cuts, transition finishes, a fadeaway jumper, and multiple steals that turned into fast break buckets. His consistency to battle on both sides is what stood out the most along with his noticeable strength. A plus rebounder that comes with a highly energized motor. Provides attributes in multiple avenues to help team make winning plays by competing with discipline and layers of effort.
Kwapil is an athletic combo guard who impacts both sides of the floor. On offense, he stayed active without the ball, moved well within the flow of the game, and found ways to get to the basket. He also showed touch in the mid-range area, giving him another way to score when defenders cut off the lane.
What stood out most was his two-way ability. Defensively, Kwapil was active on the glass and showed the ability to block shots from the guard spot. Those plays helped his team get out and run in transition. He has the tools to affect the game even when he is not the primary ball handler.

Black. Plays with athleticism, competes on the defensive glass and helps set the tone in the open floor. In the halfcourt, he’s active off the ball with cuts and curls, getting to a midrange jumper off a curl. Reads screens well and knows how to use them, including slipping to the bucket and creating offense for teammates out of actions. Added a block on the defensive end, showed his above the rim finishing with a dunk, and overall impacted the game in multiple ways.
An athletic and physical wing player, Kwapil was another player that stood out for Midwest Mayhem on Saturday. Charlies utilizes a deep bag of finishing skills when he catches to attack the basket. When he is not finishing at the rim, Kwapil is using his size and athleticism to draw contact and get to the charity stripe. I was most impressed with Kwapil’s ability to disrupt and impact the game on the defensive end. The prospect from Racine Case, was racking up the deflections and creating offensive transition opportunities with steals and pressure.
Charlie may not have had his best finishing game when I was watching, but the versatility at 6’5 was still clear to see. He can play a number of spots on the floor, but was at his best making plays around the rim. Someone who can pull in double digit rebounds on a consistent basis as he’s worked to be stronger and more agile than most other guys at 6’5. Charlie runs the floor hard in transition, can attack and make plays off the dribble, and defends just about every spot on the floor. He’ll likely lead Midwest Mayhem in scoring most games, but can also find ways to contribute when his shot isn’t falling.

. At 6’3 he already has some size out on the wing, and was able to do just about anything his team needed. He can push the tempo in transition, attack off the dribble from the wing, and provide an extra rebounding presence inside with his size. Even when dribbling through traffic he never looked uncomfortable, and always had his eyes scanning the floor looking for an open teammate. Defensively he has the mobility at 6’3 to defend a handful of different positions.
