Kirchner spent most of last season on the Aquinas JV1 squad, although he did get promoted to varsity for the WIAA playoffs. The Blugolds finished 26-3 and won the WIAA Division 4 state title, but three starters from that squad graduated last spring, leaving the door open for Kirchner to potentially gain a spot in the Aquinas playing rotation this season. He performed very well at The Swing Fall League, scoring 25 points in a 10-point loss. He made three shots from beyond the arc, but also used his strength to get into the lane for short jumpers.
