Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I LOVE to play defense, make hustle plays or a great pass that changes the momentum of the game. I can shoot the 3-pointer very well (I made 22 3's in a row and 35 free throws in a row on a YouTube video). I also like to take the ball strong to basket and get the old-fashioned "And-1" 3-point-play. I can play all 5 positions, played point guard on my teams before I started hitting my growth spurt.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
On every team I play on, I always want to be 1) The most energetic/positive player in the locker room and on the court 2) Make all of my teammates better on and off the court by challenging each other with positive energy 3) The hardest worker and player that my teammates can count on in any situation 4) Always get at least 1% better every day and challenge my teammates to do the same.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I regularly served food at The Salvation Army to homeless people when I went to St. Louise Catholic School and do various community volunteer projects at my high school.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have developed the qualities of perseverance, teamwork, grit, relentlessness and leadership through my 10 years of playing team sports. I really LOVE to compete and work with my teammates to get better every day and work toward a common goal.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I moved around a lot with my family and lived in lots of different places. This definitely has challenges but I feel really grateful and lucky to have met so many great coaches and friends through our moves. I was born in New York City and spent 8 years there and then New Jersey, Palo Alto, CA (near Stanford where I got to be ball boy for the basketball team), Kansas City, KS and now Seattle, WA.
What type of college are you looking for?
A college that is a great fit academically and athletically and I'm happy to go anywhere in the country. After living in/visiting so many places, I have found something interesting and fun about every place we have been. I love learning new things and always challenging myself to get better in every way. Thanks for taking the time to read my profile, I appreciate it! Respectfully, Brody Renners
