Garang is one of the more intriguing newcomers in the class as he has the potential to play both spots on the wing. The 6’4 wing has a good first step, which he uses to blow by his defender off the bounce and finishes well around the rim. Garang is more than just a slasher as he can also score in the mid-range and moves well without the ball in his hands. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated passer. Garang is a lanky wing prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor throughout the course of the season.

New to Peddie after transferring in from Nottingham (NY), Garang has wasted little time making an impact. An athletic slasher who is already capable of guarding 1-3, Garang is still getting his feet underneath him in his new surroundings. He was impressive defensively, getting his hands on a number of passes, forcing turnovers and turning those opportunities into offense. His athleticism and ability to slash to the rim stood out as well. There’s still plenty more to learn about his game, making Garang a player worth keeping tabs on moving forward.

Garang is a smooth-operating scorer with imposing size on the perimeter and a skill set that makes him difficult to match up against. He is a threat to create offense off the bounce, using his blend of size, fluidity, and ball-handling ability to get to his spots. Defenses must also respect his perimeter shooting, as he is more than capable of making opponents pay when left open from beyond the arc. On the defensive end, Garang’s rangy frame allows him to cover a tremendous amount of ground, generating steals and deflections while disrupting passing lanes. He moves effortlessly in the open floor and glides to the basket with ease, making difficult plays look routine. With his combination of size, versatility, shot-making, and defensive upside, Garang is a prospect who should continue to garner significant interest from Division one programs.
