New excelled in serving as a pure IQ point guard who was able to make some insane passes and direct the offense effectively. His vision was top tier as he was able to throw passes from ¾ court that found themselves landing perfectly in the hands of Iona’s other players. New brought an element of scrappy defense to the table, as he slowed down opposing guards with his tenacious defense. On offense, he was able to knock down some big threes and get a bucket from time to time. However, his most prominent feature was as a leader. New directed his teammates on the offensive end and supported his teammates through mistakes and blunders. He’s a perfect glue guy who is really the heart of this Iona Prep team.
