Kurth is a player we saw this summer, and while he looked different, it was great to see that he could switch it up if he has to. Kurth played the point guard position and had a couple of unselfish moments that popped for me. Instead of treating every touch as an opportunity to score, he pushed the pace and generated some transition baskets. He handled the ball as a facilitator and consistently played with his eyes up. Kurth spotted cutters, found the open man, and made the extra pass when the defense shifted instead of just going after his own, and I liked that. Becoming more of a scoring threat himself would make that playmaking even more dangerous but I’m sure he recognizes that and will know how to approach the next showcase. Solid day. 

Kurth plays with a high IQ and a team-first mindset, consistently making the right reads, and he did a ton of things that stood out for me personally. He can knock down shots when open and keeps the ball moving without over-dribbling, which gives you an understanding of how he operates. Kurth also understands spacing and timing, and those things were quietly impacting the flow of the offense for Rocky Mountain Rebound in a fast-paced game. He looked to be a reliable presence who doesn’t force action but still contributes, making him a player worth tracking as he continues to develop. I am excited to see if he continues that play on the weekend, as he stood out on day 1.
