He is a three level scorer with a high basketball IQ who can put pressure on the rim off the dribble. Leonard is also a willing rebounder and has big potential as a prospect in the 2029 recruiting class.

6’7 freshman with a polished mid-post arsenal and advanced feel for scoring inside the arc. He consistently earns deep position and understands how to carve out his spots on the block. Shows exceptional touch on jumpers, fades, and hook shots, with the ability to finish over either shoulder comfortably. Also dangerous as a face-up threat in the mid-post, where his balance, patience, and scoring instincts make him difficult to guard one-on-one.

The state’s top prospect in the 2029 class, Leonard is a wing with ideal positional size, length, and athleticism. The freshman earned All-Region honors at Grayson and continues to trend upward with his production and overall impact. A true three level scorer, he can put pressure on the rim, operate in the midrange, and is showing steady improvement as a perimeter shooter. Leonard averaged 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds while leading JET Academy to a 4-0 showing, further reinforcing his status as one of the top young prospects in the state.

Auburn and Georgia wasted no time offering Leonard before he ever stepped on a varsity floor, and it’s easy to see why. Austin flashes legitimate next-big-thing upside in a frame that already checks high-major boxes. He’s a fluid perimeter athlete with excellent size, moving effortlessly into scoring windows and playing with a smooth, controlled pace. Leonard is a true shot-maker—burying threes, using advanced footwork off the bounce, and spinning off defenders to access his floater in traffic. Defensively, he brings added value as a rim protector from the wing, using timing and length to block shots. In what’s shaping up to be a loaded 2029 class, Leonard is separating himself early and looks every bit like a potential headliner.

The freshman can put the ball in the basket at all three levels and his perimeter shot making continues to improve. Leonard has all the physical characteristics to be a high level defender as well.

Austin consistently attacks the heart of the defense, playing through contact and comfortably getting to his floater. Physically, he is well beyond his age, standing 6’4” with a strong, wide frame. His feel for the game is top-notch, particularly in the 12–16 foot range, where he shows excellent touch and the ability to finish over defenders.

One of the state’s top freshmen, Leonard is a likely high major prospect with plenty of potential. The 6’5 wing has great length, is an above average athlete and can score at all three levels. Leonard reports offers from Georgia and Auburn early in his high school career.

Austin pumped in 14 points in the game showing he can impact the game.
