He protected the rim defensively, altering shots and doing a nice job of staying vertical and contesting shots at the bucket. He showed good hands as a roll man, collecting passes, keeping the ball high, and finishing with soft touch at the rim. He had 12 points in the win.

He created many open looks for his team with his elite playmaking vision and feel. Along with this playmaking ability, he was great at scoring around the rim. His footwork and his use of his solid frame to bump defenders and create space made him a constant threat around the rim. He finished over defenders with his soft touch on his post hooks. He also finished many plays around the rim by just being in the right position at the right time, showing his knowledge of space and his high feel. He was great defensively as well. His size was always a deterrent for drivers heading to the paint. One-on-one, he was great at locking down in the post. He did this by staying vertical and not biting on fakes, while also remaining physical with his matchup and not allowing any space or comfort for his opponent.

Abbott is an intriguing young wing who can impact the game on both ends of the floor. He has good size and length at 6-6, and he used that length effectively on the defensive end. He handles it pretty well for a young wing with his size, keeping the ball low and tight and showing good bend at the hip, some real pliability. He has a smooth, effortless stroke off both the dribble and the catch.
