Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
A strong, intelligent lead guard, Pelzer didn’t need to do much scoring against the Wolverines with Papcun dropping 40, but he attacked when the opportunity presented itself and showed that he can finish through contact at a high level. He’s a skilled ball-handler and playmaker who sees the floor well and he likes to get his teammates involved. On the defensive end, he moves his feet and puts pressure on opposing ball-handlers by beating them to their spots and using his quick hands.

A high IQ guard with a good feel for the game, Pelzer averaged 2.6 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game as a sophomore for the Warriors, and had a really good spring and summer. He’s a tough guard who can play downhill and get to the rim off the dribble, and he’s capable of shooting it from the arc off the catch.

Read EvaluationTony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
A high IQ guard who can do a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor, Pelzer is a tough two-way player who defends on the ball at a high level, rotates well defensively, competes on the glass on both ends, and is a strong all-around offensive weapon. He can create quality shots for himself and his teammates off the dribble, getting to his spots in the mid-range and getting into his shot quickly off the bounce. He also shoots it really well off the catch, with a quick release and plenty of range.
