‘s game can only be described as complete. I’d say Lane was one of the most well-rounded guards I saw play at the Expo. And that starts on the offensive end. His around-the-rim and intermediate scoring repertoire was extremely effective. He displayed an ability to hit shots around the rim from all angles. Whether off-balance, through traffic, or around defenders’ contests, all these types of shots were fair game for him at this event. He showcased some very smooth spin moves into contested, high-arcing floaters that he hit with ease. And his high-speed euro steps created many advantageous angles for him to finish through. However, his around-the-rim scoring bag did not solely hinge on finesse, though. He searched for contact and finished through it with great poise, finishing and-1 buckets and flashing great physicality as a scorer. The midrange scoring skill he displayed was just as impressive. He used his downhill threat to create open pull-up midrange jumpers. And his focus, touch, and shot arc made it extremely difficult for defenders to slow him down in these spots. With all this ability as a scorer, he drew lots of help when the ball was in his hands, which allowed him to leverage his playmaking and quick processing speed. He made many layered reads and produced open shots for his team with his scoring gravity. Finally, I really enjoyed his impact defensively and on the glass. He has some really quick hands that he used to gather steals, and his defensive positioning was elite. Plus, with his size and athleticism, he was a force on the defensive glass as well.
Livingston has grown a few more inches since his freshman year, now listed at 6-4, and when you combine that type of size with his ball-handling and shot creation, you have the makings of an all-around offensive monster. He’s an efficient three-level scorer, talented creator, and the added size is a huge asset that I’m looking forward to seeing in person.
Livingston appeared in 18 games for the Warriors as a freshman, averaging 2.2 points on 44-40 shooting splits. He followed that up with a really good spring and summer with Iowa United in which he showcased his ability to not only score in bunches from anywhere on the floor, but also to create for his teammates. A strong guard who finishes through contact at a high level, he’s also outstanding in the mid-range, routinely knocking down jumpers from 15 feet off the dribble. Norwalk has had some really talented scorers come through the school over the last decade, and Livingston may be the next one.

Norwalk | 2029 StateIA had numerous and-one layups in the time that I was able to watch him play. Livingston has a solid, all-around game, but his ability to finish at the rim despite taking some strong contact is what stood out most. Livingston could step out and shoot it, too, and showed flashes of being a high-level, anticipatory passer.

had numerous and-one layups in the time that I was able to watch him play. Already standing at 6’1″, Livingston’s ability to finish at the rim may be considered less impressive due to his height, but the Norwalk product took some significant contact close to the basket but was still able to finish and get the extra free throws.
With an all-around game too boot, Livingston showed flashes of being an anticipatory passer that could hit his teammate in-stride for a layup or an open shot, has the frame to defend guards at the varsity level in 4A, can hit an open three and more. Part of one of the better basketball programs in recent memory, Livingston will have a shot to follow in the footsteps of the Born brothers, who both left the Warriors for Division I programs.
