I’ve never seen Langley play as well as he did yesterday. He consistently knocked down shots from the perimeter and looked more confident and comfortable from there than I’ve ever seen him. But he also does an amazing job using his body to get into the defender’s space and slow the game down—whether it be in the pick and roll or in transition—and I think he has super underrated passing ability for his size. We’ll see if Langley’s shooting improvements and high-level IQ are enough for a scholarship school to take a chance on him.

An unorthodox swingman who scores effortlessly in a variety of ways. He fills the lane well in transition and has the ability to play above the rim. His length can create problems for opposing teams on the defensive end. Offensively, he takes advantage of smaller defenders by using his size and length to score on the block.

Langley scored the ball well in Holderness’ championship win, but it was his passing instincts and feel for the game that really stood out to me. He made multiple super advanced passes across the court out of pick and roll and nail touch reads, and his accuracy and vision was on point. Langley also made some outside shots and showed off his athleticism and length on multiple drives to the rim, and his offensive rebounding was one of the biggest points of success for Holderness. He’ll be a really solid player at the next level, and his game should translate very well.

Langley rounds out the trio of jumbo Holderness wings who have skill and strength on the offensive end of the floor. The 6-foot-5 wing is a very long and explosive athlete, but he doesn’t overuse his athleticism and is content to play at his own speed and pick his spots offensively. I really liked the way he passed the ball against BB&N, consistently getting into the lane and finding shooters for open looks. When he needs to, he can finish at the rim with contact and can make some shots from the outside. He’s a D3 player who should be super productive at that level.

Langley, a member of the 17U P32 squad, is a multi-level scoring guard out of the Holderness School in New Hampshire. A versatile scorer, the big 6’5″ guard uses all his physical traits to his advantage, including plus positional size, impressive athleticism, and nice short space burst. He scores in catch and shoot situations and as an isolation creator, impressing in both situations with his ability to get his jumper off over the defense. He does a nice job of getting downhill off the bounce and is an elite finisher at the rim, both over defenders and through them. Defensively, he can guard on the perimeter and in the paint, showing good lateral quickness as well as the strength needed to guard forwards. He plays with a high motor on that end of the floor, showing the ability to make plays on the glass and in passing lanes.

fits the modern 3-and-D player who excels at playing his role to perfection. His ability to shoot threes off the catch with a fluid and clean stroke is impressive. Langley can shoot everywhere around the perimeter and can also run to open spaces on the court to get open looks. His cutting ability is subtle but effective, always moving to get easy buckets at the cup. Langley’s driving ability can be effective as well when he gets a head of steam and some momentum. Defensively, he can recover for blocks at the rim and stick with opponents with good quick feet. Langley’s simple but smart and reliable game is going to make him a favorite among coaches and programs in no time.

Previous Rank: 33 (+7) Langley was recently covered in our national article on breakout underclassmen from all 50 states, thus, it’s no surprise to see that he rose 7 spots in these rankings. Another prospect that impresses right now on the defensive end of the floor, Langley has some impressive physical traits that allow him to be a disruptive defender both on and off the ball. Offensively, he’s capable of making perimeter jumpers, but thrives as a cutter and slasher that can get into the paint and finish strong at the rim. He’s a good athlete, doesn’t shy away from contact, and makes winning plays on both ends of the floor. He’ll play up with the Team NSSA 17u squad this spring and summer.

Langley has burst onto the scene this winter as one of the region’s top shooting underclassmen. A consistent three-point three with a quick release and deep range on his jumper, Langley has had multiple games with 4+ made 3’s this season. Right now, he fits the 3-and-D prototype as a long wing that can really lock down on the perimeter. He has good athletic pop, great positional size, and can rebound above the rim in traffic. He’ll be an interesting follow over the next year and is a prospect that should be on the radar of scholarship schools in the region.
