Barber is an electric two-way point guard who knows how to make an impact on both ends of the hardwood. He comes into his senior season for Jacksonville High after averaging 12.6 PPG, 3.9 APG, 3.4 RPG and 1.8 SPG in 2022-23. He’s a scrappy floor general who can do a little bit of everything to impact the game. William Peace recently offered him. He remains an unsigned senior floor general who can operate on both ends for DII and DIII programs to get eyes on in the Jacksonville area.

There is plenty to like about what he brings to the table for his team each time he steps on the floor. He has impressive end to end speed, outstanding court vision/passing ability and a high IQ for the game. During their matchup with LWCS, he scored the ball at a high level and would even come up with the game winning bucket in overtime. Don’t let the size fool you, he competes hard and plays the game with toughness that you love to see from a Guard.

He has a strong physique, balances his scoring and facilitating very well, doesn’t allow himself to get sped up and applies constant defensive pressure to whoever he is matched up against.

Select Thornton rotation. He’s become a lot more aggressive at the lead guard role as a shooter on the perimeter and attacker in the paint. He’s shown he can push the envelope defensively as well and be quite a pest to opponents as a defender. He’s a name for colleges to get to know out of Jacksonville High in the 910.

The dual sport athlete made a nice number of plays on both ends of the court, constantly attacking on the offensive end while applying a high amount of pressure on the defensive side of the ball. He has a nice IQ for the game, doesn’t get rushed into turnovers often, and plays the game with toughness.
