Saunders, a guard out of the Taft School in Connecticut, came into New England for a post-graduate year and will leave having proven himself to be one of the region’s better perimeter shooters. The 6’2″ guard knows how to use screens to get open, is in constant movement off the ball on the offensive end of the floor, and does a nice job of making reads with the ball in his hands. One of the reasons he’s so effective as a shooter is that he’s always shot ready on the catch, while also showing the ability to really elevate into his jumper. He’s a high academic prospect that plays with a good basketball IQ on the defensive end of the floor. He remains undecided on a college destination.

Saunders is a lanky and athletic 6-foot-2 guard who has lots of potential. The senior can shoot the ball from three and has really solid footwork coming off screens, but he can also use his long arms for extended finishes at the hoop. Saunders uses his length on the defensive end, too, where he can slide his feet well and has good hands for steals. Saunders seems like a D3 player to me, and I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t end up at that level next year. He has room for growth, too, so you never know.

shot the lights out of the ball from three. His shooting form was clean off the catch with good rhythm and a high release point and made defenders pay all game long.

Saunders popped off the page with his bunch scoring. He had a knack for finding the bucket in a plethora of ways. Saunders did a good job of hunting shots off the ball. He found ways to come up with steals. Saunders thrives as a slasher. He should see a ton of schools get involved with his recruitment as he heads up north to the NEPSAC.
