Fresh off of committing to Bemidji State, Abu put in a huge performance on Monday night to lead Park Center to a comeback win over Totino-Grace. TG went up big early on, but Abu put the team on his back for a period of time, going to work out of the high post. He’s so dangerous facing up, as he can elevate for the mid-range jumper, or dribble into a post-up and go to work around the rim. Showed the combination of power, footwork, and touch to finish just about everything around the rim, no matter who TG threw on him. Hit a clutch three point jumper late in the game to force overtime as well. He finished with a team high 27 points in the win.

Abu came out aggressive from the jump against Farmington. His combination of strength, explosiveness, and finishing touch at 6’5 made him tough to stop. Even against a Farmington team with plenty of size, Abu was finding ways to slash to the basket, get two feet in the paint, and go up balanced to finish at a high percentage in traffic. Showed touch extending out to mid-range as well. Park Center came out with a ton of intensity defensively, and Abu’s athleticism at 6’5 helped cover a lot of ground and force errors out of Farmington. He ended the game with 25 points in a win.

Abu continued his strong run of play this fall in a tough game against Hopkins. He’s difficult to match up with because of his blend of size, explosiveness, and strength. Abu excels at facing up, able to beat his man after a jab-step, or simply elevate for the short/mid-range jumper where he can connect at a high percentage. Can play a bit of a small-ball big because his physical tools allow him to play a bit bigger than his size, helping him compete on the glass against true post players. Transition threat who can beat opposing forwards up the floor and finish above the rim with ease.
