Expert Analysis
Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
Foster is a high academic guard who has helped change the culture at Dublin Scioto, being a key piece to their impressive 2023-24 season. Foster had some big numbers in scrimmages with some above the rim finishes on the fast break. Also able to make shots from the perimeter either off the catch or dribble, there’s a reason Foster was a first team all conference selection as a Junior. Look for Foster to be one of the leading scorers in the OCC this winter.

Dublin Scioto has slowly been on the rise as they try and establish themselves next to city rivals Dublin Coffman and Dublin Jerome who have been some of the top teams in Columbus the past few seasons. Foster has been a big part of the turnaround for Scioto as he did an excellent job as the floor general last season. After graduating a couple key pieces, none bigger than Kaden Haywood, Foster has an even bigger scoring role this season. Foster impressed during the Ohio State team camp and when I caught him in July at the Ohio Summer Championships. Foster can shoot it from the outside, has decent size for a point guard and can make plays for others. A high academic prospect, Foster has a niche with those schools where he can stand out.

I didn’t get the chance to see Foster during the spring so I was excited to catch him in June with his high school program once again. He didn’t disappoint with a big scoring game Vs Teays Valley. Foster’s signature play was a step-back 3-pointer and-1 that was filthy. Besides that play, Foster was scoring at the rim with both hands including a right-handed tip in. At the rim, Foster is much more efficient shooting off two feet than just going off one. After graduating Kaden Haywood, there is no question this is Foster’s team as a senior as he’ll look to continue the positive momentum Dublin Scioto built last winter.

have helped lead Dublin Scioto to one of their best seasons in recent memory. With an 8-2 record and their only losses coming to Westerville South and Delaware Hayes, Scioto has been impressive with wins over Dublin Jerome and Worthington Kilbourne to name a pair. Foster has been consistent this season and we recently praised his efforts at the Harvest Prep Holdiay Hoopfest. Click here to read that profile.

The first game I caught of the day was a total mismatch as Dublin Scioto dominated against Columbus Independence. Foster was the engine for that success as he knocked down shots efficiently off the catch and got some easy buckets in transition. A nice take to the hoop got Foster a buzzer-beating layup to end the first quarter and when Independence switched to a zone defense, Foster continued to make them pay with his perimeter shooting ability. Dublin Scioto is one of the most improved teams in central Ohio and the play of Foster and

Another Ohio United guard, Foster was a standout at multiple prep hoops circuit events. Foster is a high academic prospect and already being targeted by some of those programs. The lefty guard has good size and can score it in a variety of ways as a shooter from the outside or slashing to the paint. I think the biggest growth Foster showed this summer was on the defensive end, continuing to play physically on that end will be crucial for Foster after he was already a productive guard for Dublin Scioto as a Sophomore.

Due to his impressive play earlier in the game, Foster was on the court in crunch time as Ohio United closed it out to win the 16 U Grit Region Championship.

who recently received his first Division I offer was a standout, he was far from the only Ohio United 16 U member to impress on Saturday. Starting with Foster, he gave great defensive effort on the ball and made plays by moving his feet and giving ball handlers trouble. Foster also had a block at the rim and a steal where he dug down in help-side and ripped the ball away. On the offensive end, Foster picked his spots and made open layups and shots when they came to him. Impressive team performance from Ohio United on Saturday, you’ll be hearing from more members of this team before our content from this event is finished.
