All season long, many individuals proved that they can play against great talent. Many athletes take pride in getting better and the hard work has definitely paid off.
Leo Wagner Leo Wagner 6'5" | SF West Campus | 2022 State CA-N (West Campus) – A versatile 6-foot-4 forward who can love to get to the basket. Wagner can also shoot the deep ball and when he gets going, it will be a long night for the opposing team. Wagner is dangerous when running the floor in transition but also during the pick and roll or pick and pop. A player who has increased his numbers significantly, averaging nearly a double-double with 20 points and 9 rebounds.
Brandon Herrera (Foothill) – Herrera loves to put the ball on the floor and create for himself or others. A player who possesses the ability to finish through tough contact around the basket while also being able to make the midrange or three-ball efficiently. Herrera is a key player for the Mustangs scoring 19 points and grabbing nearly 6 rebounds a game. A player who is gaining more and more confidence over time.
Anthony Sierras (Antelope) – Sierras is a winner. A flat-out competitor on both ends of the court. The sophomore will be astronomical for the Titans throughout the next two seasons of his career. A player who can fill up the stat sheet and does a lot of the little things, putting his team in a good situation to succeed. Sierras scored 12 points, dished 2 assists, and grabbed nearly 7 rebounds for a very successful Antelope squad. The young standout is also a phenomenal defender already with great instincts.
Miles Byrd Miles Byrd 6'6" | SF Lincoln | 2022 State #174 Nation CA-N (Lincoln) – One of the top sophomores in the state. Byrd had a busy and exciting week as he received two Division 1 offers. Byrd is a versatile player who is very athletic, making him a very dangerous player on both ends of the court. Byrd continues to develop in all aspects of his game and will be a double-double machine by the end of his high school career. The 6-foot-4 guard ended his sophomore campaign averaging 12 points, nearly 3 assists, 6 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block for a solid Trojans team.
Jaden Tengan (Kennedy) – The confidence level of this young guard has grown greatly. Tengan can play. A fearless guard who can run the show. The 5-foot-10 sophomore scored 15 points, dished nearly 3 assists, grabbed 3 rebounds to go with nearly 2 steals. A quick guard with a good understanding of the game. Tengan is scrappy on both ends and can also stroke it from deep, scorching 76 made three-pointers this past season.
