Continue ReadingEvery year a good amount of players fly under college coaches radar. The greater Sacramento area has consistently produced high-level basketball prospects. This past season, there has been an astronomical amount of players who have proven that they are capable of player at the next level. Many of these players carried an outstanding high school career but also stepped up big time during there senior season.
Darrius Kendall Darrius Kendall 5'10" | PG Rocklin | 2020 State CA-N – MVP of the SFL as a senior. Kendall was a four-year varsity player and received first-team honors as a sophomore and junior. Scored 18.4 points and 5 assists during senior campaign. Easily one of the most versatile players in the area.
Jalen Patterson – One of the most dynamic scorers in California basketball history. Patterson scored 2,933 career points. A high-quality playmaker who is a two-time MVP for the SVC. Jalen has the potential to become an immediate impact on the offensive end at the next level.
Dane Johnson Dane Johnson 6'5" | PF WoodCreek | 2020 State CA-N – A big body in the paint, Johnson is a fierce threat on both ends of the court. The CVC’s Most Valuable Player scored 13.2 points and has drastically improved to become one of the top players in the area.
Tiler Fears – High IQ player who gets it done on both ends of the court. Fears is a First Team All SFL player as a senior. 4.0 GPA student. One of the sleepers in NorCal hoops.
JD Duley – A confident offensive player who can get you buckets. The senior displayed that he can play against top competition. Duley scored 19.5 points and dished out 1.9 assists this past season. He only continues to get better and can be a steal for a college program.
Brain Lambey – The first team SFL winner has been an instrumental player for Granite Bay all season long. Lambey scored 15 points a game, demonstrating the ability to put the ball in the hoop in a variety of different ways.
Jacob Brown Jacob Brown 6'4" | SG Oak Ridge | 2020 State CA-N – A dominant player on the post, Brown nearly ended the season averaging a double-double. Brown is a big piece to the Trojans lineups, dominating in all aspects of the game. The senior ended the season with 20 points, 2 assists, 9.9 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.7 blocks. A monstrous season!
Donovan Lopez Donovan Lopez 6'0" | SG Rocklin | 2020 State CA-N – A player who has stepped up big time for Rocklin. Lopez is a first-team winner who scored 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. Lopez has shown that he can score the ball at all three levels and be a lockdown defender. A sleeper in the SFL.
Handre Reinecke Handre Reinecke 6'6" | PF Rocklin | 2020 State CA-N – A very efficient big man who shot 65% this season. A player who can create for himself but can also be a premier shot blocker. Reinecke averaged a double-doubl3, 13 points, and 13 rebounds to go along with 2.2 blocks. Reinecke will continue to get better at the next level.
Ryan King Ryan King 6'5" | SF Whitney | 2020 State CA-N – Another post player who had an exceptional senior season. A great leader and hard worker who helped Whitney win a lot of big games. King is a strong and versatile big man, earning first-team honors scoring 14.5 points, grabbing 9.5 rebounds and blocking 1.6 blocks during his last high school campaign.
Josh Williams Josh Williams 6'2" | PG Sheldon | 2020 State CA-N – The Co-Player of The Year for the Delta conference, Williams plays with a lot of energy and a high motor disrupts the opposing team. Williams is a poise floor general that runs an offensive consistently and is a lockdown defender. One of the most underrated players who averaged 13.9 points, 3.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.6 steals for a stacked Sheldon team.
Xavion Brown Xavion Brown 6'2" | PG Sheldon | 2020 State CA-N – The senior filled up the stat sheet with 9 points, 5 assists, 4.9 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.3 blocks, doing a lot of little things and dirty work to help his team get wins. Brown is the Co-Player of The Year alongside his teammate, Josh Williams Josh Williams 6'2" | PG Sheldon | 2020 State CA-N . Brown is a very athletic guard who can lock down the opposing team’s best player every game.
Marquis Hargrove Marquis Hargrove 6'3" | SG Franklin | 2020 State CA-N – The senior could not have asked for a better year statistically. Hargrove is a big-time player that helped Franklin stay alive in a rigorous Delta League schedule. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard scored 19 points, 3 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 2 steals per contest.
