Our top ranked available guard in the state put together an impressive state title winning performance, further cementing his status as one of the top available 2023 HS guards in the region. Head is a big-time athlete and was able to use his quickness and strength to get past the OG perimeter defenders. Over the past 12 months Head has taken big time strides as a 3-point shooter and knocked down a pair of triples in this one. The leading scorer in the game with 19 points, Head should be an option for low major, Division II and post grad programs right now.

Head had a blistering start to his senior season with some huge scoring outbursts against top competition. With his explosiveness, shot-making ability and ability to play on or off the ball, Head has the talent of a Division I prospect. Head received offers from Southeast Missouri and Binghamton during grassroots live periods but his recruitment remains wide open. Low major and Division II programs should be looking at Head because he can provide shooting, strength and athleticism from the combo guard position. Head will look to bring Lutheran East to the state tournament for a sixth consecutive season this March.

The first uncommitted prospect featured in this article, Head is a unique guard prospect with a lot of athleticism and ability to score the basketball. I was there in person for his most impressive outing of the season, a 40+ point outburst against fellow state title contender Emmanuel Christian. Head has grown as a shot-maker and point guard throughout this season, trying to lead the Falcons back to the state final four. I expect low major programs to continue to look at Head, he got offers from SEMO and Binghamton this spring/summer, but no new schools have offered since.

has elevated his game to a new level this season. Shooting the ball at a crazy high percentage from beyond the arc, Head is money off the catch or the bounce. One of the stronger guards in the state, Head is also tough to stop when he gets a head of steam. Despite shooting jumpers with his left hand, Head prefers to finish at the rim with his right, shooting every layup attempt with his right hand except for one this game, missing the one lefty layup he attempted. If Head can develop his ability to finish with both hands at the rim and add more counter moves when attacking, he’ll add to his scoring talent at the next level.

Head has played about as well as you can ask so far this year for a loaded Lutheran East. Being on a team with so much talent has allowed Head to be seen by multiple college coaches from multiple levels. Head’s versatility and ability to play either guard positions makes him intriguing to evaluate and watch. Head is a borderline LM/Division II prospect in my eyes.

Head had the best game I’ve seen thus far in the 2022-23 high school season. Barley missing a shot, Head scored 41 points and missed just four field goal attempts in the whole game. Getting extremely hot from the outside, Head knocked down some tough shots off dribble handoffs and transition 3-point attempts. After a big season opening performance in a win over Africentric, Head followed that up with an even better performance against another Division III powerhouse. Head looks like one of the biggest stock rising prospects in Ohio’s 2023 class and needs to be looked at by low major programs and prioritized by Division II schools as well.
