It was an overall good showing for the players in Arizona, we saw a couple different clubs represented well this back weekend. Here are some of the top performers from the weekend:
Evan Nelson G 2020 (PHH 17U Rise/Salpointe Catholic)
Evan Nelson continued his impressive summer with another great showing in Anaheim this weekend. Nelson also took an unofficial visit to UC Irvine. Nelson has continuously grown his name and put college coaches on notice. He is one of the top guards in the 2020 class and will be highly recruited.
Dre Henry F 2020 (PHH 17U Rise/Mountain Pointe)
Henry had a bounce back weekend after sitting out last tournament due to a minor injury. He came back in a big way and PHH 17U was glad to have him back. He is a monster on the boards and fights for every single possession. He came up big for his team, having a game winning put back in sudden death over time this weekend.
Dominic Gonzalez G 2020 (Factory 17U/Ironwood)
Gonzalez is slowly rising his stock. He had a great high school season and now is looking to carry it over into AAU. Gonzalez is a pure scorer and can do so in multiple different ways. The best aspect of his game is by far his shooting ability. Gonzalez can flat out shoot the ball!
Osasere Ighodaro F 2020 (Desert Vista/PHH 17U Rise)
Ighodaro had a great weekend, picking up an offer from Stanford and getting interest from Cal. This will be the first of many PAC-12 schools that will be recruiting him very soon. Ighodaro is super versatile and provides so much for his team. He is 6’9 and moves very well, he can play defense, and get to the basket at will. He is super athletic and will be a very sought after prospect.
D’Maurian Williams G 2019 (Factory 17U/Westview)
Williams played very well this weekend! Hopefully he picks up some last minute interest or offers. Williams can play at the next level, no doubt. He is super talented and has a college ready body. He likes to attack and get to the basket as his primary way of scoring, I would like to see him improve his three point shooting, but it does look slightly improved.
