Luke Davis, 6-8 220, Wesleyan Christian Academy, High Point, NC
Luke was the leading scorer among the 120 players last Sunday at the NC Top 80 Showcase at Greensboro’s Proehlific Park facility.
Luke is a power leaper, who can drive the rock to the cup and he can also knock down shots from the perimeter. His 19.3 scoring average in three games was the best showing in the event.

Anjay Cortez, 6-7 190, F, 2020, United Faith Christian, Charlotte, NC
This lefty forward from Charlotte showed that he can score the basketball.
His 12.3 scoring average was the 15th best at the “Top 80” event. He scored on drives and he also showed the ability to hit mid-range shots.

Brady O’Connell, 6-7 190, F 2020, Ravenscroft School, Raleigh, NC
This lean lefty was a player that I did not know about until the event last Sunday in Greensboro. Brady is a leaper deluxe, as he finished second in the event’s “slam dunk” event. He’s more than just a leaper, as he showed a solid mid-range jumper, in addition to his ability to finish. His 11.0 scoring average in three games was 25th best, among the 120 players. Brady’s and his family moved to the Triad from Georgia, because his brother Alex is a member of the Duke University basketball team.

Ahmil Flowers, SF, 2020, Grimsley High School, Greensboro, NC
I had heard about this young man, but I had not seen him play until Sunday. He led Grimsley in scorer, during the high school season and he proved to be a good scorer at the “Top 80”, as he averaged 15.3 points per game, which was the ninth best at the event. He scored, but he also proved to be a good rebounder as well.

Cheick Traore, 6-8 220, C, 2020, First Assembly Christian, Concord, NC (pictured on front)
Pronounced Shake, Cheick was one of the top rebounders and inside defenders at Sunday’s “Top 80” event. He put forth maximum effort in hitting the boards and defending some of the best big men in the state.
