Greensboro Day vs Durham Academy
The Greensboro Day Bengals come into their 4A semifinal game with Durham Academy, sporting a 28-5, win-loss record.
Coached by long-time veteran coach, Freddy Johnson, who has over 1,000 wins as head coach at Greensboro Day, the Bengals are a deep and balanced team, with good size in the front-court and good guard play.
Nicholas Evtimov, 6-8 220, Mike Fowler, 6-9 220 and Noah Dunn, 6-5 220, are senior leaders in the front-court for Greensboro Day and each one of the veteran trio are capable scorers and rebounders.
Evtimov is being recruited by a number of DI schools, while Fowler has signed to play at James Madison University. Dunn, who missed the first half of the current season, due to an injury sustained last summer, is a DI prospect, as well.
Josh Taylor, a 6-8 195 sophomore Big Forward, is a consistent front-court contributor for the Bengals, as well and he is already garnering interest from many Division I programs.
Coach Freddy Johnson’s backcourt is manned by a trio of talented performers.
Austin Inge, a 6-1 160, pure, point guard, is the floor leader for the Bengals, while sophomore guards, Carson McCorkle, a 6-3 170, 2G and Camren Hayes, a 6-3 170, 1G, are major contributors.
Inge is a Division I prospect, while McCorkle has already committed to play at the University of Virginia. Hayes has offers from Tennessee and other high major programs.

Durham Academy, coached by Tim McKenna, has had a breakout season. The Cavaliers have been led in scoring by a trio of outstanding performers in Marquise, MJ, Rice, Bryant Randleman and Cole Sinclair.
Rice, a 6-5 210, freshman, small forward, averages 16 points and around eight rebounds per game. He’s hitting around 60% of his shots from the floor. MJ is already receiving recruiting attention from high major programs.
Durham Academy’s leader is probably 6-4 senior swingman Randleman. The veteran, who can play small forward and guard, is averaging 15+ points per game, close to five rebounds and four assists per game.
Sinclair, a 6-1 sophomore guard, averages just under 14 points per game.
