Ripon 19-11 vs Liberty Ranch 28-2
Coming into this game the favorite is the highly ranked Liberty Ranch Eagles who set as the number 1 seed in division 4. Coming off a tremendous season with 28-2 record the eagles have two tremendous contributors Junior forward 6’5 Isaac Padilla who is averaging 15.2 ppg and 8.7 rebounds per game. Putting up tremendous numbers Isaac has been a catalyses for the eagles team. Controlling the boards and knocking down open 3’s. In their last two playoff games Isaac went for 26 point and 10 rebounds against Ventura Academy, and dropped 17 points and 9 vs Bear River. With his tremendous Scoring ability Isaac could be the X factor to push the team over the edge.
Leading the Ripon basketball team is 6’9 senior Center Vincent Olmo who is leading the team in points with 16.9 point per game and rebounds with 11.8 averaging a double double. Being a tremendous force in the paint, the opposing eagles will have a hard time stopping the big man from doing what he wants in the paint.
Deference Maker
A player who can set this game apart is Jaylen Patterson who is on the season averaging 23.1 point per game for the Liberty Ranch eagles, gets it going in a hurry. This year breaking the schools all time scoring record with 1936 points as a junior. With no one who can put a halt to Jaylen’s scoring outrage, Ripon might have to send two defenders to slow him down.
West Campus 23-6 vs Sonora 25-4
Sonora who is ranked as the number 2 seed in the playoffs are the favorite to win this semifinal. With a tremendous record at 25-4 the Sonora Wildcats are battle tested and have the collective group to move on to the finals.
West Campus has also had a tremendous year with a 23-6 record, coming off a section championship last. The Warriors have a good group of bench players to support their starters. If the bench comes to play then this could be a close nit game.
The X factors for both teams
With super junior for West Campus in Quincy Taylor who is leading the team in every category averaging 17.2 point per game and 8.3 rebounds and 4.5 assist.
For Sonora who is also leading their team in all Categories is Austin Patterson who is averaging 22.5 point per game and 6.3 rebounds.
With these super scorers going at it the road to the division 4 championship should be interesting.
