With so many guys not signed yet, here is the first part of the five unsigned impressive prospects list.
Isaiah Palermo (Osceola)
With offers aplenty, 6’5″ Osceola guard/forward Isaiah Palermo will have his pick of the litter when he’s ready to make the decision. St. Bonaventure, FGCU, Cleveland State, FIU, Florida State, Ole Miss, Bethune-Cookman, Middle Tennessee, Northern Arizona and James Madison have all offered. Palermo is an aggressive-minded slasher and a guy who is always looking to score and give his offense a boost during clutch time.
Malcolm Whitlow (Carrollwood Day)
As of now, 6’1″ Carrollwood Day guard Malcolm Whitlow holds one offer and it is from Division II Eckerd. The scoring phenom in the Tampa Bay area can really play and he dropped 57 points in a comeback win over Calvary Christian just a few weeks ago. He has a plethora of Division I interest including some Ivy League programs. Regardless of what level of basketball Whitlow ends up, it is clear he can hold his own on both sides of the ball and right now he’s driving by double and triple teams with his mature ball skills.
AJ Cajuste (Oxbridge)
When you look at AJ Cajuste, you see a fiery and speedy ballhandler who can knock down jumpers with confidence. For Oxbridge, the 6’0″ senior has been huge over the last few seasons as the ThunderWolves have made some nice runs in the playoffs. Cajuste has guided Oxbridge to a 21-0 record which closes out its season on Saturday against a 1-21 Palm Beach Gardens team. The recruitment is wide open for Cajuste and he should easily land somewhere with his mixture of pure athleticism and burst. UNF, Old Dominion, FAU, FIU and Southeastern Louisiana are among the programs showing interest right now.
Johnnie Williams IV (Booker)
If you want to watch a big-time dunker and highly impressive athlete, then look no further than Johnnie Williams IV. When the 6’4″ Booker guard is attacking, he’s awfully hard to stop and he’s able to earn a lot of trips to the free throw line by drawing contact. Currently, Williams holds offers from Arkansas State, FGCU and Southeastern Louisiana. He also has generated interest from Murray State, Kansas State, Lousiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, Charleston, Utah and a handful of others. The upside with Williams is too hard to pass up and he will be playing Division I ball somewhere in the fall there is no doubt in my mind.
Joshua Scott (Blanche Ely)
A shifty wing/power player, 6’5″ athlete Joshua Scott can really move down the floor with ease. He can score at a consistent clip and is a candidate for a double double nightly with his aggressiveness and effort level. For a deep and disciplined Blanche Ely group, Scott is a workhorse. He has one offer for basketball from Palm Beach Atlantic and an offer for football from FAU. He will get a chance at one of those sports because of his pure tenacity and willingness to fly around on the court or field.
