Underrated 2019 Guards: Part 2
There are a vast amount of talented guards in the country and in Florida, we see leaders all over the place.
Part 2: Here is a look at five senior guards who have been flying under the radar.
ICYMI: Part 1
Harvey is an impactful guard who uses his burst and overall leadership to his advantage. The 6’1″ point man sets the tone for his side and he calms things down more often than not. Harvey’s vision and shooting ability are his best assets.
A 6’4″ guard Gomez is awfully tough defensively. When he gets going on offense, he is very hard to contain. Gomez has a smart shot selection and his mid-range pull-up has improved as of late. He’s a worker and he’s always looking to score.
Every time I watch Daughtry play, he impresses me. He’s undersized at 5’9″, but the kid is a warrior and is always working his juice to score inside and dish out quick passes to his teammates. Daughtry should lead the way for Bartow this fall.
Jared McGarrity (Countryside)
Previously at Pinellas Park, McGarrity joins a new-look Countryside unit. It is a young team outside of the senior guard. At 6’2″, McGarrity is always playing scrappy ball defensively. His 3-point shooting is a huge asset.
It seems like Holy Trinity always has athletic lengthy guards who are versatile. Nickson fits the bill and he’s going to be a top piece this season for his group. Look for Nickson to have a fine senior campaign.
