CP3 Rising Stars Standouts: Team Rockets
Henderson Upper (MA) Guard Kendric Davilla-Diaz: Has a smooth game, does a nice job of finishing in traffic and not allowing himself to be put in uncomfortable positions when his defenders pressure him. Always has his head up and is constantly looking to make the easy play, a lot to like about this youngster.
Crossroad Academy (FL) Wing Jaylen Martin: Longer wingspan, does a nice job of using his length to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Got into the paint and finished at and above the rim as well as protecting the paint on the defensive end.
Gray Academy (SC) Guard Julian Kiett:The energy he plays with is what caught our attention pretty quickly, he didn’t take plays off and was constantly applying pressure to his opponent. If there was a loose ball on the court, he was chasing it down trying to keep the possession alive, just an overall unselfish player.
Medway Secondary (Canada) Forward Luke Grace: His size is what will catch your attention (6’9) almost instantly but there is more to him than being just a tall player. He has good touch around the basket, but can also step out and knock down shots on the perimeter.
Christ Presbyterian (TN) Forward/Center Braeden Moore: Another player with good size already at 6’7, his IQ for the game was on display as he did a nice job of defending in Pick and roll situations. Finished around the rim and rebounded the ball nicely, does exactly what you want a big to do.
Baldwinsville (NY) Guard JJ Starling: He is a player that we came into the event already knowing about, he has shown during school ball season that he can fill it up scoring wise. In this setting he didn’t have as many touches but he still showed the ability to knock down shots and was efficient with what the FGA that he got.
Notre Dame (CA) Guard Ben Shtolzberg: Has a nice mixture of speed and strength, doesn’t mind contact and has the ability to finish through it. Knocks down shots from midrange, doesn’t take bad shots, communicates well with teammates.
