Top Performers: Super Six Session II
On The Radar Super Six Session II kicked off on the gorgeous campus of Emory University on Friday afternoon.
With five courts going at once, three downstairs and two upstairs, the college coaches and fans packed the gym.
Here’s a look at the standouts from the day.
Chanse Robinson (Louisiana Lincoln Prep/Louisiana Elite)
A young bright mind, Chanse Robinson was leading the charge for the 16U Louisiana Elite squad in a win over Showtime Hoops. The 6’0″ 2020 Lincoln Prep guard is fast, always looking ahead to the next play and good with the ball in his hands. He can shoot from outside, drive and kick it out to his teammates with ease. There are a lot of reasons why Robinson is ranked No. 2 overall in the 2020 Prep Hoops Louisiana rankings.
Tyrell Jones (West Oaks/Showtime Ballers)
It is hard not to see the name Tyrell Jones these days. He’s been a red hot offer machine, with his latest coming from Oklahoma State on Friday night after a convincing win over PSB Elite. The 6’1″ 2019 West Oaks guard is the leader for his prep team and his travel team, Showtime Ballers. Jones can shoot well from outside, drive and kick and his intelligence/athleticism shows in every game regardless of offensive output.
Klein Alexandre (Oxbridge/Team Speights)
I came away very impressed with 2019 Oxbridge guard Klein Alexandre in the Team Speights win over the Atlanta Celtics. At 6’2″, Alexandre has a noticeably strong upper body and he’s able to mix it up defensively because of it. He’s at his best in transition as a pick and pop mid-range/outside shooter. I think Alexandre will have a fine senior season with his mix of skills.
Russell Jones (South Carolina Westwood/Team South Carolina)
A tough nosed defender with superior outside shooting ability, 2019 Westwood guard Russell Jones gave E1T1 fits in the Team South Carolina victory on Friday night. He sets the tone for his side on both sides of the ball. Jones is a team player who can attack, shoot and lead by example. Jones is ranked No. 19 overall in the 2019 Prep Hoops South Carolina rankings.
Emmanuel Maldonado (Colonial/Showtime Hoops)
Emmanuel Maldonado was knocking down outside shots at a high clip in a loss to Louisiana Elite. Most impressively, the 6’2″ 2020 Colonial guard played in the following game with 17U as they needed an extra player. He can stretch the floor with his 3-point ability and is a vision passer. Maldonado could stand to improve on his finishes moving forward.
Osborn Shema (Glove Prep Christian/New Orleans Elite)
When a 6’11” big man can shoot 3’s with ease, that will draw attention. 2019 Glove Prep Christian forward Osborn Shema was sensational at times in a loss to E1T1 in the early evening. Although his team didn’t win and he didn’t score a lot, Shema was hard to defend and his length is a true problem defensively. Shema is a player to monitor in Louisiana simply because of his mix of size and shooting. I expect a lot of college programs to take notice soon.
