Names to Watch for July Live Period
Donovan Gregory (Team Charlotte)-Gregory is a player that may end up having the same type of recruitment as Nate Hinton had last summer/spring. He has a lot of the same tools and abilities as Hinton has being 6-foot-5 and showing the same skill-set and scoring prowess. He has a 39-inch vertical, is very athletic attacking the paint and getting to the rim. He has a great motor, is a solid on-ball defender, he can play and defend multiple positions on the floor.
Donovan GregoryCaleb Stone-Carrawell (Team United)-Son of Chris Carawell who played at Duke; Long; good mid-range jumper; has a wide base when taking shots; pure release; does a good job of running the floor on the break; played behind one of the top 2019 prospects in the country and UNC commit Rechon Black this past season; has strong scoring ability and length.
Trey Cousin (Mid-State Magic)-Does the little things that help teams succeed; Good at taking charges; he can is strong and long; has a strong ability to score the ball; can shoot it from deep and can get into the lane; if he is not scoring he finds other ways to be productive.
Matt Smith (Team Charlotte)-Wide shoulders, can attack off the dribble, good handle for size, strong, can finish above the rim, can guard the perimeter, can handle it well enough to score in transition, goes to the rim strong, fills the gaps to get easy buckets, soft touch around basket.
Brice Williams (Team Loaded 704)-Great Scorer at all three levels, Excellent 3 point shooter who can put the ball on the floor and get to any spot he wants and rise over the top of defenders, great length and athleticism on the defensive end, Excellent defensive rebounder who will grab it and lead the break. Father is leading scorer in Charlotte histroy. Has Charlotte offer along with Holy Cross and Lafayette.
Demarcus Johnson (Mooresville Magic)-Has Long arms and plays with a great pace. Athletic build and game. Has the ability to defend more than one position on the floor.
Felix Gue (Charlotte Aces)-Good size; able to grab rebounds; can step out and knock down the mid-range jump-shot; bouncy off both feet when he gets the ball in the post; tough defender; stands his ground in the paint; quick second jump; gets a lot of put-back points.
AJ McKee (Team Charlotte)-Strong body, nice upper body, really good handle with quickness, nice mid-range pull up in paint with traffic, quick first step, good elevation on jumper.
