HENDERSON, Nev. — The Border League has become one of the premier fall high school and prep school basketball events in the country and the 2026 event lived up to the hype. More than 150 teams from across the country made the trip to Southern Nevada to participate in the three day event. We were in the gym from morning until night at the Henderson Sport & Social and Coronado high school locations and below is our takeaways of the event's best scoring guards with a mix of SoCal and National prospects.

We were able to catch a couple of Daughtry's games over the weekend and his ability to generate offense despite the opposing defenses being keyed in on stopping him was impressive. The 6-foot-2 point guard has that prototypical new-age scoring guard skill-set with his ability to create shots for himself in isolation, ball screen and transition offense while having a three-level scoring package. Daughtry is most effective as a perimeter jump shooter but has drastically improved his physical strength which has led to more confidence and consistency as an at-rim scorer.

Dohrmann is probably the most unknown guy on this list but his level of scoring production earned him a spot here. The 6-foot sophomore thrives in Canyon's uptempo offense with his constant off-ball movement and ability to knock down deep threes - both off the bounce and off the catch - standing out as his most lethal tool. Dohrmann can fill up the scoring column in a hurry due to his high level of self-confidence and his coaching staff believing in his scoring and playmaking abilities.

Rolle continued to show more layers to his offensive game at the Border League. The athletic, slashing 6-foot-5 off-guard made plays and scored baskets in transition as a lane-filler, cutter and downhill driver but he showed more comfort and confidence stepping into catch-and-shoot threes. Rolle has all the physical, athletic and wing tools to be a major piece at the high major level and the perimeter shooting consistency is the next step to realize that potential.

The one thing you can always say about Profit is he is consistently good and productive and that was no different at Border League. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard, who recently pledged to Northwestern, averaged 26 points, six assists and 4.5 rebounds per game for Rancho Christian and put points on the board in a variety of ways. Profit is a consistent catch-and-shoot threat from deep, covers ground aggressively and confidently on his straight line drives and generates easy baskets with his cutting and offensive rebounding.

Nance's ascension as a prospect received another big boost after his Border League performance. The 6-foot-5 lefty shot the ball with confidence throughout the summer and that carried that torrid level of consistency into the fall where his three-point shot and mid-range jumpers have been dialed in. When you combine the ability to stretch the floor with his positional size, physicality and ability to score at the rim, Nance provides a matchup nightmare for most opponents he sees.

Few guards in the 2027 class possess the blend of physicality, explosive athleticism and skill that Bowman has. The 6-foot-4 point guard, who committed to UConn last week, used his strength to get to his spots and his shot-making ability to score on tough jumpers or physical buckets at the rim. Bowman showed impressive ball screen feel and navigation and hunted open space where he elevated into a mid-range or three-point shot or used his savvy and body control to get into the body of defenders and score in the lane or draw contact to get to the free throw line.

Johnson will be one of the top scorers in Southern California this season regardless of class because of his ability to connect on threes at a high clip. The 5-foot-10 sophomore has deep range on his three-point shot which he hit off-the-catch and off-the-bounce in a close loss to Village Christian and he's one of those guys who gets his shot off quickly. Johnson punishes defenders who go under on ball screens by stepping behind them and hitting shots but can also navigate the paint and finish with touch on his floater.

When talking about the best pure scorers on the west coast, [player_tooltip player_id='2767777' first='Will' last='Conroy, Jr.'] has to be near the top of the list - regardless of class. The 6-foot-1 sophomore has tremendous feel for creating space and attacking space that he makes good defenders and good defenses look like novices. Conroy scores in bunches and makes the most difficult of shots look easy. His three-level scoring package allows him to take over a game in a variety of ways and he has the ability to put a team on his back on the offensive end. Conroy was very effective when diagnosing ball screens with patience and finding his scoring spots with efficiency.
