We got out to the Metro State Camp this past weekend and there was plenty of talent on display. It was great to see players take a break from the club scene and get us closer to what they will look like during the regular season. This is our first look at how these players will look this season and for these players, they will have a much bigger role. Here's 6 players who we think will have much bigger roles based on what we saw from the MSU camp.

Use code dev30 for 30% off and secure access as we're going through rankings and got you covered for the grassroots season. You don't want to miss any of our scouting.

McCubbin is a player who is going to have a ton of responsibility this year, and from what we saw this weekend, he looks up for the task. Arapahoe truly did have a pretty balanced young team last season, and they can use that to their advantage with a ton of returners. They're going to need Reed to be a veteran presence for them and a calming presence. He's shown that he can take care of the ball, facilitate and run the sets, and this weekend, there was a bit more scoring as well. Reed will have to be a true PG that is finding open teammates and buying into a role if Arapahoe is going to use him to the best of his abilities, but also use that IQ as a defensive anchor as well. He could be a two-way standout in that conference that could make some noise, and it's finally his time. Want to see what he does with the opportunity.

Robinson had some flashes this weekend where you can see where he's going to be most effective this season. He's going to be a defensive menace who they can throw on a guard and speed him up, limit their touches, and turn defense to offense. This weekend, he was denying on defense and not letting players get comfortable and getting his hands on deflections that turned into points the other way. Tristan is a physical and quick athlete who uses that on the floor. In their first gam,e he went on a scoring run with some tough finishes inside and showed that he can turn it on when he has to. He should have a bigger role this season.

When he plays, he's good. It's as simple as that, and it was a different style of play when he was on the floor for Regis. At the UNC camp, his versatility shone through as he was bringing the ball up the floor, facilitating and scoring as well. Legrand has solid size for a guard and handles his own as a defender. Regis is going to be able to play a bit more free-flowing with him on the floor, and it will be interesting to see how they find ways to use him this year, as I think he will be needed and he will have a breakout year.

Harvey did not have a ton of varsity minutes a season ago, but that is going to change. I think he will be the team's X factor and barometer on the type of season that Regis has. If he plays well, I could see Regis making some noise as he has solid size, a motor, and at the camp was part of the clean-up crew. He was constantly moving, grabbing boards, and going right up with it. He had putback finishes, he screened and rolled, and used his size at the rim. He was also patrolling the paint and making shots difficult for anyone trying to get in and get easy baskets on him. Harvey does plenty of the little things for Regis and will be a player who should have a lot on his plate this upcoming season. Solid weekend for him.

I was on Lynett to finish out the high school season as there's plenty of promise with him. He's a solid three-level scorer who gets to his spots, overpowers guys, and finishes with ease over smaller defenders. We saw plenty of that this weekend, where he was forcing and attacking the mismatch, was a force on the block, and scored with ease. Lynette will be one of the team's go-to guys, and they showed that they're going to trust putting the ball in his hands. You could tell that there was a bit of adjusting to being the guy, but once he settled down, he looked solid. He's going to be a player to watch this season and this was a good start.

Edwards was on a tear to finish out the season, and when he puts it together and is having a big game, that is when East is at its best. We saw them play a couple of games, and in the game against South, he was in a groove. Edwards doesn't shy away from contact; he finishes through defenders, and we saw him have a couple of and-1 finishes. Edwards uses his size, man's the middle, and battles with the bigs. He will be a player who we expect to have some big games in his senior year with an elevated role.
