The NEPSAC is the most competitive basketball league from top-to-bottom in New England, and one of the more competitive high school basketball leagues in the entire country. Every year, dozens of kids transfer (and often reclass) to these prep schools after standout performances at their public schools.

Below are 5 studs from outside of New England that should make an immediate impact in the NEPSAC.

I see a lot of Lucas Morillo in Eli Prince. The 6-foot-6 point-forward doesn't have an offensive weakness. He can make shots from the perimeter, the mid range, and at the rim, but he can also handle the rock against shorter defensive pests and makes phenomenal decisions once he touches the paint—he processes the game at an impressively high level for his size and age and should only improve in that regard at Cushing. He has a great feel for the game and uses his physicality to effectively displace other wings his size, and he should fit in wonderfully around other talented players and shooters. Prince might never reach the level of dominance Morillo achieved at Newman, but the Cushing postgrad is going to turn heads this season and is a surefire D1 prospect.

Scarff has an intriguing skillset and should walk into a big time role at Macduffie right away next season. The 6-foot-8 forward has excellent coordination and hands for his size, so he's able to finish effectively at the rim in the half court and in transition. He moves really well for his size and has good athleticism—I love his second jump, specifically—but he also plays with an edge and a competitiveness that's rare. The NEPSAC will be an awesome level for Scarff, who already has D1 offers and will pick up more if he's productive at Macduffie.

Powe III is the son of a former NBA player, and you can tell. He knows what he's good at on the floor and finds ways to accentuate those skills while hiding the things he's still working on. The 6-foot-5 wing can handle the ball and play as a point-guard, but he can also cut off the ball and excels as an athlete in transition. He uses slow steps and eurosteps quite well at the hoop, and he plays at his own pace while never being sped up. Powe III will look to make an impact right away for a Newman School squad that is rebuilding after a NEPSAC Class AAA and National Prep Championship last season, now under the leadership of new head coach Justin Perron.

Hill hails from Baltimore and is absolutely ELECTRIC. The 5-foot-8 guard has incredible quickness and a phenomenal handle, so he can get paint touches whenever he wants. Once he gets there, he has excellent vision and unselfishness and sets up his teammates consistently. If the defense doesn't collapse, Hill will get all the way to the rim and finish quite comfortably for a player of his size. He will be attending CATS Academy next season and will be an awesome watch whenever he's on the floor.

Edwards hails from Harlem, NY, and will bring his playmaking and scoring ability to Bridgton Academy next season. The 6-foot-3 guard can play with or without the ball because of his ability to space the floor with his shooting prowess but also his handle and on-ball juice. He has excellent change-of-speed and change-of-direction mechanics and does a great job keeping his defender off balance, and he has a super pretty pull-up jumper once he touches the paint. I wouldn't be surprised if Edwards walks into Bridgton as one of their key playmakers and gets scholarship attention as a result.
