Saturday at the West Suburban Sports Complex brought many great performances from players trying to make a name for themselves. Strong two-way play from forwards and Guards with a great sense of the game led the way.

Merrel showed out for All Love in the 15U scene. From the get go against the Netburners 15U team he was making his impact known on the defensive end. He was great at reading passing lanes as well as disrupting the game with his on-ball defense. He finished the game with 6 steals. That wasn't the only place he was making an impact as he also had 5 3's. Merrel has a great feel for the game and seemed like he always found the open spots off the ball. A rangy playmaker who can do a little bit of everything.

Trent Had a day for the [program_tooltip program_id='2075830' first='Sharks' last='Basketball Academy'] in the 16U scene. The defense never knew what was coming, rather that was a spot up three or a drive-by for an easy layup. He made contested layup time and time again. He was able to finish through contact and consistently cash in at the line. He was also an absolute pogo stick on the glass consistently getting second chance buckets. I would have to give Trent my performance of the day as he finished with 43 against against Common Bond 16U team. He followed that up with a 40 piece against High Hoops 16U team. 83 in 2 games. Incredible.

Kenaz is a 2026 prospect that needs some more attention. While playing with [program_tooltip program_id='2219307' first='1' last='Dream Basketball'] 17U against [program_tooltip program_id='2622592' first='Flight' last='Athletics'] 17U he was getting to his spots with ease. He excelled in the mid-range hitting a multitude of jumpers, including a couple post-up fade-aways. He was great at the rim as well finishing through contact. Kenaz finished with 33 points. He also made his presence known on the defensive end with four blocks.

Collin was anything but quiet for [program_tooltip program_id='2075314' first='Big' last='3 Basketball'] 17U against Wisconsin Rockets 17U. He was making his presence known early with 3 3's in the first half. That does not even touch the surface of his impact as he was a monster on the boards. A true two-way player with a nonstop motor. He was great running the floor beating the defense multiple times down the floor for easy buckets. The versatility is real with Collin as he did a little bit of everything. Finished with 31 points.

Colby was getting it done on both ends for the [program_tooltip program_id='2622592' first='Flight' last='Athletics'] 17U squad. Colby has great length for his size and was putting it on display early. in his first game against Legacy Ice 17U he was all over the passing lanes forcing steals and hounding when he was on the ball. He showed off his Jumper as well hitting a couple spot up 3's. In his second game against [program_tooltip program_id='2219307' first='1' last='Dream Basketball'] 17U he showed off his offensive versatility more. He was slicing the defense and finishing through contact around the rim. He was great on the offensive boards as well creating many second chance opportunities.
