Spring Stock Risers: 2019 Class
With their final AAU seasons halfway over, Kentucky’s Class of 2019 has started to show itself to be a little deeper than what was previously thought. In the last couple of weeks two players have added their first D1 offers while others have racked up more offers for their lists. Here’s a look at the players who have raised their stock the most in the last couple of months.
Dontaie Allen, Pendleton County – Dontaie has been one of the hottest names in the country in recruiting over the last 2 months. Allen was offered by Virginia Tech, Purdue, Dayton, Nevada, Western Kentucky and Xavier in May. Allen was invited to and attended the Pangos All-American Camp last weekend but did not play due to injury. This Sunday Dontaie will take an unofficial visit to the University of Kentucky and is expected to play with the new Kentucky players when he’s on campus.
Darius Osborne, Pleasure Ridge Park – Osborne has been having a strong AAU season and was recently rewarded with his first D1 offer from Nicholls State. Darius is a versatile player who should play a much larger role for PRP in his senior season after the graduation of several key players.
Jamarion Sharp, Hopkinsville – Sharp is all upside right now but if he ever realizes his potential, he can be special. Jamarion is pushing 6’11 right now but is very thin. He’s a good rebounder and rim protector but has a long way to go on offense. Jacksonville State coach Ray Harper extended an offer to Sharp last week and there could be more coming for the big man.
Kyle Rode, Lexington Christian – Rode has added a ton of offers since the AAU season started in April and it will be interesting to track how many more come his way in July. Rode is a no doubt mid major plus player right now and could end up with a high major offer before the end of July.
Michael Moreno, Scott County – Rode’s AAU teammate, Moreno has also added a bunch of offers in the last two months. Many of the same schools are recruiting the Indiana Elite duo and there are some similarities with their games. It will be very interesting to see if either earns their first high major offer next month.
Dekeyvan “KyKy” Tandy, University Heights – Tandy hasn’t added a ton of offers lately but adding Ole Miss and Wichita State to his list just further solidifies his position as a high major player and a top 100 player in the 2019 class nationally.
