Rynes has been building toward this rankings debut for a few months. He first jumped onto our radar in July with his rebounding, physicality and ability to impact the paint on both ends. I also liked his footwork on the block, and he showed some great timing as he was challenging shots around the rim. The Expo gave us another look as he added a little more to his game. Rynes runs the floor well, makes smart decisions, plays with a motor and even flashed some touch at the high postt. That’s a useful combination for a young big trying to crack a varsity rotation at Summit. He doesn’t need the offense run through him but he can give effort and rebound, protect the paint, sprint the floor and five some transition baskets. If those things translate first, the rest of his game has room to come along with them. He’s a player we ranked for the first time that we hope to see more of. 

Rynes was a steady presence and showed the type of game that can make a big man valuable in a variety of ways. He played within himself, made smart decisions and consistently ran the floor hard to create opportunities in transition. While his game is built more around his work inside, Rynes showed some added shooting touch by knocking down a couple of perimeter looks. His motor, feel and willingness to do the little things stood out, giving us another reason to keep Rynes on our radar moving forward after The Expo

Rynes combined athleticism with strong fundamentals to make an impact on both ends of the floor. The talented post player consistently controlled the glass, securing rebounds and providing a physical presence in the paint. Offensively, Rynes displayed polished footwork on the block, allowing him to establish position and finish efficiently around the basket. Defensively, he protected the interior by altering shots and challenging opponents at the rim. His ability to influence the game through rebounding, scoring and rim protection made him a key interior presence throughout the tournament.
