The Expo: New Names Who Emerged After Strong Performances

Each player brought something different to the floor, whether it was shooting, rebounding, scoring inside, defending, or simply making winning plays. There were plenty of moments that stood out and left us wanting to see more. He showed no hesitation getting off his shot from deep, but it was his ability to create off the bounce that really opened things up. Duncan repeatedly got defenders leaning and found ways to turn the corner, creating scoring chances when he had the ball in his hands. He played with confidence and wasn't afraid to call for the ball when his team needed offense. He stayed active and was always ready throughout his minutes and showed confidence when open looks came his way from beyond the arc. Gallegos also did a good job of moving away from the ball, using cuts and timing to find open space and keep the defense occupied. That combination of shooting confidence and purposeful movement gives him a solid offensive foundation. Once he established himself on the block, he displayed a crafty touch and knew how to work his way into finishes. He played within himself, made smart decisions and consistently ran the floor hard to create opportunities in transition. While his game is built more around his work inside, Rynes showed some added shooting touch by knocking down a couple of perimeter looks. He played with toughness and purpose, embracing the physical side of the game while finding ways to contribute on both ends. Kley didn't settle for standing around after the shot went up, consistently crashing the boards and competing for extra possessions.
