Lozano stood out for Summit this year as he put up 15.6 points a game. The thing is, not many people have gone out and seen Summit play. I can admit that I am one of them. I did, however, see that Lozano wanted to get his name out there a bit more and played on our circuit with Morgan Dawgs to prove that he belongs. He was impactful offensively as a smooth scorer who gets to his spots, passes, and cuts, and finishes around the rim. He can also shoot the 3-ball and get going in various ways, and that is where I said I have to have him on the radar. We’ll check out a Summit game and see how he fares, but do think he will be a name that makes even more noise this year. Solid summer for him, where he got on the radar. I think he should get out and get to our showcase to continue proving he can lace them up against anyone and stand out. 

The timing couldn’t have worked out much better. We had just highlighted Lozano as one of the smaller-school prospects worth knowing, then got a chance to watch him back it up in person. His value comes from everything between the highlights. He’s not this flashy, big-name player, and that is okay. He still makes his plays happen. He was able to keep Morgan Dawgs’ offense flowing and was the spark that they desperately needed in games. He plays the right way and is one of their versatile players. He was making solid passes, passing and cutting for baskets, and doing everything to be involved in plays. When the ball found him, he stepped into shots with confidence and knocked them down, but he was even better as a connector. He’s a player who I’m intrigued by as he stepped up in multiple games. 

Lozano is a player I personally haven’t written about before, but he had himself a season worth mentioning. Lozano was one of the bright spots for Summit as he put up 15.6 points a game as a junior and showed that he could carry the scoring load. He was the scoring option for Summit, who got double-covered at times and still produced and found a way to put the ball in the basket. Lozano can play both on and off-ball, occasionally shoots the 3-ball, and runs the offense the right way. We want to see more of him as an under-the-radar standout who could make some noise this year with some wins. Get him on your radar.

Lozano a junior at Summit, is quickly making waves with his dynamic play, averaging 24.3 points and 4.3 assists per game. He always keeps his head up, surveying the floor to make smart plays and can get his shot off quickly in any situation. Lozano has range, can knock down perimeter shots and doubles as a facilitator, setting up teammates effectively while still being a constant scoring threat. His combination of scoring, vision and court awareness makes him a tough matchup and a central piece of his teams success this season
