[player_tooltip player_id='1772411' first='Isaac' last='Ellis'] is a guy that simply wins basketball games and should rise through the rankings as the production begins to weigh more and more as time goes on. Point Guards should be judged on wins and losses, in the last 12 months, [player_tooltip player_id='1772411' first='Isaac' last='Ellis'] won a UA Rise 17u title, an OTE Title, and had a winning season this year in that same league while securing MVP honors. Ellis's leadership ability, shooting touch, and ability to run a team at a high level regardless of who surrounds him, make him North Carolina's top Point Guard in the 2027 class and the 2nd ranked player behind consensus top 15 national recruit [player_tooltip player_id='2292410' first='Jordan' last='Page']. Ellis's addition to the 2027 rankings comes after he re-opened his recruitment, announced his move to the 2027 class, and was immediately snatched up by Louisville. It will be difficult for Isaac to nab that top spot before the end of his high school but he will end up having one of the best college careers of anyone in the class.

Rush first caught my attention last summer when a college coaching buddy called after an incredible performance at a NxtPro event and I immediately recognized that we had a gem on our hands with some quick research. At the HoopState fall league, Rush showed his ability to be a dynamic volume scorer, run a team, and displayed the kind of physical traits you're looking for in a combo guard. Super quick off the bounce, long and active arms on the defensive end, along with his ability to make tough shots from every level with consistency, I truly believe we're ahead of the curve with where we have Nylan ranked. He had a really impressive season at Leesville Road for Coach Frazier and should be able to build upon his success this summer with [program_tooltip program_id='2227286' first='Team' last='Loaded South'] under longtime college assistant coach [player_tooltip player_id='2768412' first='Levi' last='Watkins'].

Franklin is a classic glue guy + some that gave Ambassador Christian an incredibly valued piece of their lineup this season. Franklin plays with a high level of toughness at both ends of the floor along with knowing how to put himself in a position to succeed. Franklin is a true two way connector, he's vocal and versatile defensively while maximizing his touches on the other end of the floor. At Ambassador Christian this season he averaged 10.3 Points, 4.0 Rebounds, 2.2 Assists, 0.9 Steals, and 0.8 Blocks per game with 55/33/76 splits. Franklin's ability to fit in as a piece while still shining in his role is an incredible asset as he progresses in his basketball career. If Franklin can improve his efficiency and volume as an outside shooter over the next year, there's a really good chance he'll vault into the top 30 by the time this next year when the rankings are updated for the final time in the 2027 cycle.

[player_tooltip player_id='2673399' first='Donovan' last='Dickens'] was instrumental in Greenfield winning a state championship this season as he fit perfectly alongside [player_tooltip player_id='1280933' first='Kobe' last='Edwards'] and the other pieces at Greenfield this season. With his reclassification to the 2027 class, it made sense to rank Dickens among other full scholarship level players as he'll enter into more of a primary offensive role in the backcourt at Greenfield next season. This season, Dickens averaged 10.0 Points, 2.8 Rebounds, 1.6 Assists, and 1.4 Steals per game on 45/36/76 shooting splits. Dickens calling card is his ability as a point of attack defender. He might have the best foot speed of anyone in the 2027 class. He's a dynamic downhill driver in the half-court and transition and proved to be a more than reliable secondary playmaker alongside of [player_tooltip player_id='1280933' first='Kobe' last='Edwards'] this season. This ranking is a bet on the enhanced role going well for Dickens next season.

Smith is an important new name to monitor at Salisbury High School. He initially showed me a lot of promise the first time I saw him last spring playing for the [program_tooltip program_id='2078471' first='Carolina' last='Riptide']. A springy and active undersized 4 man with the ability to switch out and be a true menace all over the floor defensively. Smith provides a ton of help on the glass for his team, he even had a 17 rebound game in the playoffs this season. He recently helped his Salisbury team secure a State Championship with a win over Reidsville last night. Smith is one of the higher upside guys ranked outside of the top 50 and is looking like a full scholarship level player. It's very likely he rises as his production is simply undeniable. If Smith can add some outside touch to his game, it could completely transform the way people look at him as a prospect.
