Ellis’s leadership ability, shooting touch, and ability to run a team at a high level regardless of who surrounds him, make him North Carolina’s top Point Guard in the 2027 class and the 2nd ranked player behind consensus top 15 national recruit Jordan Page Jordan Page 6'6" | SG/SF Broughton | 2027 State #13 Nation NC . Ellis’s addition to the 2027 rankings comes after he re-opened his recruitment, announced his move to the 2027 class, and was immediately snatched up by Louisville. It will be difficult for Isaac to nab that top spot before the end of his high school but he will end up having one of the best college careers of anyone in the class.

Recently reclassifying to 2027 and flipping his commitment from South Carolina to Louisville, Ellis has kept one thing the same through all of the changes going on. He’s producing at a monster level and winning games in one of the best high school leagues in the country. The YNG Dreamerz are about to enter the 2nd round of the OTE Playoffs after a two game sweep over The Blue Checks. Ellis just won MVP and is averaging 29.3 Points, 4.8 Rebounds, 8.9 Assists, and 1.9 Steals per game. He’s doing all of that on 41/35/77 splits. Ellis possesses the ability to completely manipulate a game with his playmaking and really sets the tone for his group on the defensive end of the floor. A true 94 foot player that is on another level mentally compared to 99% of the high school players around the country. Look for Ellis to help lead The YNG Dreamerz to their 2nd straight OTE title.

It’s unsurprising that Ellis would be a part of the top-5 in this category, particularly early on as he looks to fill the massive box score impact that his brother left behind. The 6-foot-1 southpaw guard is extremely crafty with his approach and comes equipped with a quick, fluid trigger from three that never wavers in confidence. Ellis and Jones are the motor behind YNG’s strong 4-0 start as Ellis accounts for 28 point, 10.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game. His percentages could use some improvement, but given the usage percentage and heavy shot diet, it can be expected.

A prospect who flat out wins and produces, I’ve been higher on the Ellis brothers for a long time now because they are real basketball players who prioritize winning and aren’t just hooping for the cameras. Moravian Prep has been one of the most dominant high school teams in the country with the Ellis brothers running the show and this summer Ellis and company dominated UA Rise competition to win the championship. Ellis does have some questions in terms of his physical profile going to the SEC but I’m done doubting the production that Ellis shows and his elite basketball IQ and toughness will give him a chance to play.

I was really impressed with Ellis as obviously he has a reputation as an elite shooter but his all around game is very advanced as a lead guard. Ellis plays with elite pace off the dribble, not getting sped up and using his body to shield the ball from defenders. Ellis also has an ELITE head fake which allows him to either get to the foul line or force the defense into an early contest. On a balanced team with a lot of shooters, Ellis could draw help defense and kick it out to a shooter. Really impressed with Ellis on Sunday to lead his team to a title.

A player who has consistently played up in age competition, Ellis is not going to back down from anybody on the court. An elite shooter off the catch, the lefty has a quick release and gets his feet set off movement quickly. I also liked Ellis’ finishing ability off the dribble, playing off two feet and using craftiness to avoid being blocked. Defensively, Ellis competes as he stripped a couple ball handlers and even forced a five second violation. Rare to see players with the large social media following that Ellis has really compete on both ends of the court and play to win but I’ve always been impressed with his ability to impact winning and toughness. Nothing fake about the heart he shows on the court.

Ellis has seen his recruitment grow on the international scene over the past few weeks as he’s made a name for himself at the point guard spot. He’s a high IQ floor general who’s shown he can make winning plays no matter the competition in front of him as he continues to generate interest from D1 programs at the LM/MM levels. He’s another prospect on the Pro16 League circuit to keep an eye on with TLBA as they look to make a splash at this year’s live period.

Ellis makes his debut in the 2026 rankings with Moravian Prep/YNG Dreamerz as he continues to showcase his talents at the point guard spot. He’s not the most athletic but he makes up for all of that with his quick decision-making and ball-handling skills at the lead guard role. He’s been offered already by Eastern Kentucky, Radford and a few others following his productive grassroots season with TLBA Pro16. He’s set to blaze his own path given his ability to make things happen on the hardwood.
