The stage doesn't get any bigger in South Carolina high school basketball than the SCHSL State Championships. With titles on the line and a packed arena watching, several players rose to the moment and delivered performances that helped define championship weekend. From clutch scoring runs to dominant two-way efforts, these were the players who shined brightest when the lights were at their highest. Here's a look at some of the stars who made their mark on South Carolina's biggest stage.

[player_tooltip player_id='2709017' first='Hopper' last='Afman'] starts off my list of stars from the 2025-26 SCHSL State Championships. Afman and the Philip Simmons Iron Horses were up first on Thursday, and despite their recent hot run, a lot of people saw them as the underdog. Hopper's individual success was a huge factor in the win. It was defined by his excellent scoring package at 6'4", spreading out the opposing defense with perimeter shooting while also making things happen off the dribble. Afman was a frequent target on designed sets, as both of his made threes came off a baseline out of bounds. He went on to put up 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 drawn charges, winning the State Championship for the first time in school history.

Another wing who helped lead his school to glory for the first time is Crews. Although he got off to a shaky start by missing his first three shots, Jayden was extremely important in keeping the Redhawks in range of Greenville's fast start. Once he really got going, Jayden's jump shooting was as effective and efficient as ever, connecting on shots from both the mid-range and perimeter. Despite only being listed at 6'3", Crews has been Westwood's leading rebounder all season, and he brought in 9 boards in the final game of the year. Jayden put up 23 points on 4-7 3FG in the win, cementing his place in Westwood Basketball history.

The single-biggest moment of State Championship week was David's game-winner for Christ Church. It wasn't a buzzer-beater, but it was a true March moment given the circumstances. That alone would have earned him a spot on the list, but he was also the Cavaliers' leading scorer in the game and one of only three players in double figures in a very scrappy game. Dixon's length gave him an advantage over the opponent's wings all game long, as he was able to shoot and finish over shorter matchups. This will be David's 3rd State Championship Ring, but no doubt his most memorable one.

The youngest "star" of the weekend is [player_tooltip player_id='1982894' first='RJ' last='Davis']. RJ, like many in this list, was arguably as impactful defensively as he was offensively. Ashley Ridge hadn't faced a team as big and athletic as Ridge View all season long, so Davis was able to take advantage of some bad decisions early on both as a shot-blocker and in the passing lanes. He has good instincts, but he can also cover lots of ground on the defensive end. Offensively, RJ crashed the glass hard and was a lob threat around the rim. He finished with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals, getting an early rest as the Blazers ran away with another State Championship.

One guy who absolutely filled up the box score in a win was Germany. He was dominant, racking up 24 points, 17 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 7 steals to help win C.A. Johnson the Class 1A crown. Aissacc and the Hornets played for the State Championships less than five miles away from their school, so they were more than comfortable from the jump. He had 9 rebounds in the first quarter, controlling the offensive glass to help get his team second opportunities. Aissacc still has some work to do offensively, but if you want a next-level defensive menace, it's time to jump on Germany before it's too late.

[player_tooltip player_id='2289958' first='Jordan' last='Rouse'] has been a leader and star player for North Augusta all season long. He rounds out this list of stars from the 2025-26 SCHSL Championships after putting up 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 2 steals to help give the Yellow Jackets their first-ever trophy. Jordan is always one of the most intense players on the floor, but he seems to step his game up a level on the biggest stages. Rouse is excellent at playing through contact offensively and using his body legally defensively, making him a true two-way difference maker.
