starts off my list of stars from the 2025-26 SCHSL State Championships. Afman and the Philip Simmons Iron Horses were up first on Thursday, and despite their recent hot run, a lot of people saw them as the underdog. Hopper’s individual success was a huge factor in the win. It was defined by his excellent scoring package at 6’4″, spreading out the opposing defense with perimeter shooting while also making things happen off the dribble. Afman was a frequent target on designed sets, as both of his made threes came off a baseline out of bounds. He went on to put up 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 drawn charges, winning the State Championship for the first time in school history.
