Nike EYBL Preview: NC Players To Watch
The Nike EYBL tips off today in Dallas and quite a few NC players will be participating, not only with NC teams but also with teams up and down the east coast. Let’s take a quick look at some of the players that we should keep an eye on in Dallas and who could improve their stock over the next few days.
Team CP3 & Cox Mills HS 2019 Wendell Moore: He’s #1 in the NC Rankings and has won back to back state titles with his high school team. Duke has recently dropped in to see him and he holds a high amount of offers from all the big time schools, this will be his first year in the 17U division so we are looking forward to seeing him perform.
NY Rens & Christ School 2019 Jalen Lecque: You have probably seen him on social media due to the crazy dunks that he throws down in games which has earned him the nickname ‘‘Baby Westbrook’’. He will look to show throughout the EYBL season that it’s more to his game than just dunks as he will step in and play high minutes at the PG spot.
Team AOT & Northwood Temple 2019 Guard John Michael Wright: In my honest opinion, this is the kid that may help his stock the most over the next few weeks. He’s already taken some unofficial visits to programs like Indiana and Wichita State so the interest is there, but now it’s time to turn it into offers. He’s grown some more and he plays the game with a killer instinct, keep an eye on him closely as he may be one that college coaches will be calling even more.
Team CP3 & Fayetteville Academy 2019 Forward/Center Emmanuel Izunabor: Another player who could see his stock rise in a major way, he’s already picked up low and mid major interest and will only continue to get more if he plays well. The attributes that coaches will like about him the most is his ability to rebound the ball and block shots, if he can do that at this level then the bigger offers will come.
Team CP3 & York Prep 2019 Derricko Williams: Originally out of Kinston, NC, he is a name that quite a few people know, he plays the game at a high level with intensity and is one of the better athletes that you will come across. With this being his first time on the EYBL we are interested to see how performs and responds to the different level of comp, don’t be surprised to see him on some highlights for his dunks.
