Prospect Spotlight: Cardin Joubert (2019)
An underappreciated 2019 leader is Cardin Joubert.
The 5’11”, 172-pounder has shown a knack for scoring often and can push the tempo for his group. Joubert led Gulf Coast with 16.8 PPG as the Sharks went 17-8 this season.
He called his junior campaign, a fun ride.
“Midway through the season, I injured my middle finger but I played through it,” Joubert told Prep Hoops Florida. “Once I recovered, I played better than ever, including a 40-point game. I’m excited about next year and I will come back strong.”
In that 40-point outing, a win over Barron Collier, Joubert shot 7 of 15 from 3-point land for an impressive 47 percent clip. He was kept under 10 points just two times this season and tallied 20 or more points in six games.
No offers or interest have come yet for the pure athlete.
Joubert plays for Florida Elite SW for travel ball. He says he loves playing for them because of the tough defense and fast-paced offensive style.
He pointed to his athleticism, speed to the rim and shot as his biggest strengths. Joubert is working on his handles and using his dribble drive more to his advantage.
A two-year varsity starter, Joubert doubled his points per game as a junior and took full control of the Sharks offense. He’s going to be counted upon to make even more plays with nine seniors graduating which include three of the top four scorers.
